COASAM: Not Knowing What I've Written
posted 5 years ago The Bandmaster of Kriegland
The latest in my series of "Compositions of a Stupid Autistic Mind," which are either repetitive on purpose or are just stupid little melodies I improvise. Why? It represents the annoying things I used to do as a child, which proved to my parents I really am autistic. This whole series of compositions are based on dreams I have from time to time, which are flashbacks of my childhood. These repetitive melodies, therefore, are generally either things I improvised and they stuck with me, or were based on things I discovered I remembered wrong. Alternately, they're sometimes relevant to a current event in my life, or just represent what mood I am in right now (or otherwise tell the story of my life). This series also is a challenge for me to use specific MuseScore templates at least once (although I also modify settings on the templates to make it easier on myself). That challenge is completed, though, so I'm now going back to templates I am used to, namely when there's lots of percussion.
I had the strange idea of attempting to write a piece of music without hearing anything, because I was watching Jeopardy! while watching it; bad idea, folks. Don't try to write something such as a story or piece of music and watch a game show at the same time; your brain's attention gets divided. This is the result of that failed experiment (if you consider it a failure).
I used the classical orchestra template, so the piece is for:
Flute
Oboe
B-flat clarinet
Bassoon
Horn in F (I think that's a French horn)
B-flat trumpet
Timpani
Violin I & II
Viola
Cello (or violincello)
Contrabass (or double bass)
Music (C) me and me alone
