OK. I think I should prefix this by saying it's an update of sorts of a comic I did years ago: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1195576/
Before I'm barraged with comments asking if I'm siding with anyone -- this has nothing to do with siding, and everything to do with being realistic.
I've seen soooo many comments about how so and so is going to get SO BEAT UP and blah blah blah.
To paraphrase what I said on the old comic:
Guys?
Really?
Shut up.
In the end you're still a bunch of dorks at a FURRY CONVENTION.
Thank you.

the drama starts with him saying he's homeless but he still pays loads of money for commissions.
but then it kicks in to highgear when people want to stop his "bad habit" for him. And then people go nuts because the artists are seen as supporting said bad habit.
i remember there being a journal here saying that someone would actually help him with his lack of a living situation, i hope that succeeded.

You'd be cheering on account of someone you don't know being assaulted and possibly injured or killed by someone else you don't know on account of interactions you had nothing to do with between him and other people you don't know?
Stay classy, furries.

I've run into a few people that I've VERY MUCH DISLIKED but aside from the initial awkwardness most conventions are large enough to avoid any confrontation what so ever. Generally, it's a stupid idea to confront anyone in an environment where they are most likely surrounded by all their friends at any given time.
There are such things as conflicts though, but for furry cons I haven't heard of anything happening that's much more than passive aggressive shit.

I recall one con where I had to listen to one guy go on and on and freaking on about how this one girl who was also at the con was so terrible because of something on SecondLife. And you could just tell that if he actually ended up face to face with her, he would have tried to act like her best friend.
I think I only ever met one person who was the type of person who would up front tell someone to f*ck off, but even he would only do so if they went up to him first as he wouldn't go out of his way to get in someones face.

The truth is, they can't do what they claim to do, because they're leashed by con coordinators, con rules, and their own agenda. Fuck him up just once? BANNED FOR LIFE. It's understandably frustrating, specially when the fandom gives you zero second chances.
This is why I prefer to keep my nerd rage online. At least then people won't know what hit 'em when I talk IRL... if they even recognize who I am online.

It's a bit much to wish bodily harm on a person that hasn't done anything to you. Maybe if Allan had gone around killing puppies, but all he did was misuse money that people donated to him of their own will. Now if he was one of those people, I could understand why he'd be so pissed off.
My point wasn't that he had no reason to dislike Allan, but that he had no GOOD reason to wish him bodily harm. Well assuming that Allan was not responsible for some personal grievance against him, which is why I posed it as a question.
So your devils advocate argument should be that physical violence is warranted against people who have perpetrated an act foul enough to warrant such violence.

UGH THIS THANK YOU.
I don't even LIKE popcorn. When I go to a movie I eat like a dozen giant pretzels. I mean, I'm a HUGE drama-monger and I'll admit that-- but the next time someone goes DOHOHO BETTA GITCHA PAWPCAWN I think I'm going to tear my own hair out if I don't go for their eyes first! D:
Also doesn't help that it's always THE SAME POPCORN GIFS EVERY TIME.

I somewhat like the flavour of popcorn with lots of butter, but.. I don't eat it. I HATE having kernels in my teeth and it tends to give me the runs for whatever reason. It's nowhere near tasty enough to put up with that.
I just don't eat at theatres. Their stuff is way too expensive. I might get an icee or something but that's it for me.
Blah blah blah blah blah, popcorn is kinda overrated, blah.

It may be an unpopular opinion but I agree with it completely. All these insecure douchebags, 99.9% of whom have ever even had any interactions with the guy except maybe to spit on him after it became popular to do so, talking shit on the internet. Nothing will actually happen though because at some point peoples' nerves break, or they realize they're being an asshole, or they realize they'll be partyvanned and get sent off to be raped in prison if they do go ahead with the assault.

I remember reading someone's journal talking about how they'll stand to his defense if anyone tries to start anything with him. Seriously.
But to be fair, it wasn't that he was taking sides. It was because he found it dumb that people seemed actually serious about starting some shit over this guy.

Now many years back, I remember the drama about a furry and a troll (or something) who had decided they were finally just going to have it out at the con after prolonged arguing and drama on LiveJournal. Much outside drama built up, lots of folk egging it on. They even promised to film it.
Oh god, I still have the videos on my drive! Scruggs verses Khyber (Kitsune?). Ahaha, there are links. 2004, wow..
So yeah, would it happen? Was it all hot air?
Ooh, a surprise confrontation video was uploaded unexpectedly! ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-825MnoBe8 ) They'd been winding each-other up, and almost came to blows! Shit, was this actually going to be one of the saddest points in the history of the internet??
I'll let you decide, but I like to think it was actually one of the best things ever to occur on the border of the net, the fandom and the real world..

Blarg >.< aye ya got it spot on with this one.. lost track of how many "threats" he gets n then fuck all happens >.<
Does the guy need the shit kicking out of him? no, that wont do fuck all except make him a pity party and victim.
Does he need people allways ither white knighting him or slandering him 24/7? No, that doesnt do shit all except piss off hard working artists, who drew him, and got baaaaaaw'ed back into the stone age.
Does he need time away from the internet, artwork and most definately the furfandom untill he sorts himself out? most definately, will help people cool off if he isnt constantly posting n paying for art, will no doubt do him a world of good, and will finally and hopefully end all this "Allan! baaaw!" drama x.x

haha, epic :)
Yeah, I've seen a couple of different people who had a large group saying they were going to do something, and I just made a note to not stand to close to any of them at the con and moved on. (as opposed to saying what you said, which is what needs to be said. gawds, I am such a coward. :P )

All this I'm gonna kick his ass, kill him stuff is ridiculous.
Yes he's pulled some shit, but going as far as assault or even wishing something horrible on another person?
GOOD.
GOD.
People need to leave this shit karma.

Plus like only 2% of the people going with the intent of starting shit with Disliked Wolf will actually even remember what he looks like when they go there and that's ASSUMING they're not so distracted with, you know, being at the WORLD'S BIGGEST FURRY CONVENTION to actually be keeping an eye out for him.
Even just stalking people around at conventions can get you in shit with security if even ONE person thinks you're acting fishy-- I volunteer at a Sci-Fi convention every April and a couple of years ago we had a problem with this guy following my older sister around the entire time, and then following me around when he found out I was her sister whenever he couldn't find her. Neither of us said anything about it, it was a small con so it couldn't have been that big a deal... But then we were approached by security explaining that they kicked him out because they thought it was fishy that he had been taking pictures of us the entire time. I'm not even kidding.
I have a feeling something similar's going to happen at AC. :/

Interestingly enough, the onlyy exposure to furry drama I've really had is the one in the comment section of this image. Its like war, I know it exists, but I havent been personally involved in it. Perhaps because I dont buty or do comissions and stuff like that, people tend to be very nice and forgiving as long as you dont bring money into the equation. Ive always thought that the furry reputation for drama was kinda exaggurated, but perhaps I'm just hopelessly naive. In my three years so far involved in the fandom, I have npoticed furries capacity for snark more than the drama, which I guess I should be thankful for...
Anyone who actually has the intent of getting into a fight at the con needs to keep this in mind: You are currently within the proximity of a couple thousand furs, among which, someone... SOMEONE, thinks Unico is the bee's knees and someone else is very proud of their Klonoa x Sonic fanfic... and for anyone in that group who is taking themselves SERIOUSLY enough to actually try and start something... really? I mean LOOK, there are six foot tall foxes walking around fer goodness sake.
You would think that the absolute absurdity would be enough to halt the stupid... but lady drama, she knows no bounds.
...also, jujubees.gif

It's too cute... wanna fight about it?! *arms drama cannons*
No, Unico is fiiiine, I just suck at communication. I was just making the point that, in a place where a large number of people are thinking about things like cute lil animals or cross-continuity porn stories (or both simultaneously) someone wasting their time trying to ruin someone elses time, regardless of how much of a douche they may or may not be, is nuts.
There's a time and place to be serious, anywhere near round little unicorns is not it.

You know, it's not his attitude and it's not his mooching. It's not his propensity to rip people off. It's the fact that he has people do the same fucking picture over and over again.
Truth be told? He's the new Sibe. Hated for all the wrong reasons while people orders of magnitude worse get a free pass.

Allan's story becoming public was pretty much an excuse for everyone to combine into one big, annoying, extremely smug mob against him. If he's really attending, I'm actually hoping he just has a good time and nobody bugs him. Even if he did commission himself into poverty, I've seen people get away with worse on this site without getting jumped on by nearly the entire community.
I think the best way to deal with someone who has wronged people in the fandom is to completely ignore them to the point of irrelevancy. Being ignored is a million times worse than being assaulted -- and the best part is that nobody will be paying for the rest of their life for assaulting someone once.
I got the feeling anyway that a lot of the random hatred directed towards him wasn't even about him ripping people off, but that he was on Welfare, which many people resent, even though one may spend their Welfare checks any darn way they wish.

This is very true of most of Generation Barney, but then, they're tweens and teens mostly, so honestly that behavior is very typical...furry community or not.
It's the webtards that run around mouthing off most of the time online, often believing that they're "anonymous" and feeling empowered by it, they'll say pretty much whatever piece of retardation comes to their butthurt little minds. But again, that's to be expected.
Us oldbies, those who have been online since the days of Usenet, before the World Wide Waste even existed, before most of you kiddies were even a wet stain in yer father's skivvies, well, that sort of behavior, imagined or not, is considered to be the absolute height of cowardice. It's called netKKKopping, or "Going RL" on somebody, the point at which you let "words on a screen" upset you so much that you start looking to lash out in the real world because mommy apparently took the titty away from you too soon and you just don't have enough balls to suck it up, put on yer big girl panties and deal with it.
No, instead those types they get all flustered and indignant about "words on a fuckin screen" and start pissin in their little pink princess training panties and lashing out like an angry toddler in a therapy session...it's pathetic, to say the least bit, and it's those types that usually make a community look its worst...not the "big bad" Internet "bullies". LOL
Anyone who takes an online SE or flame artist so seriously that they would start wishing or planning for real world revenge is truly at the height of human stupidity and in fact only justifies the art itself...as it's usually designed/performed ~explicitly~ for the sake of exploiting such stupidity and ignorant, backwards, hypocritical thinking. In other words, if you start acting that way in reaction to things they do...you're basically signing up to be their little bitch and to dance like an pwned little puppet for them. Don't be a little bitch...don't "feed the trolls" with your stupidity.

Allan got banned from FA because he scammed a bunch of losers I mean users out of their monies by lying about being homeless and freezing on the street. He then turned around and spent every dime on artwork of his durpsona jerking off. Almost every single pic was him jerking off.
He then made a journal on another site saying he was going to AC and death threats ensued.
When he went no one did a damn thing to him.

The sad thing is that this isn't just true for furries, it's basically anyone on the internet. It's pathetic when people use the anonymity granted by being online to do whatever they want (granted, it can be used for more than just ranting; if you're going to keep your dignity offline, think about what you post/do online too)
My opinion? Unless you'd do/say the same thing to somebody you know offline (for all you know, you might know someone you're insulting offline and not know it's them), don't say/do it online.
Let us attempt the impossible and bring some class to the internet.

And, speaking the guy that personally handed the wolf his badge at this very con, had a brief chat with him, and then talked to him again on Sunday...
This is exactly how it went down. Exactly.
The people who do truly dumb stuff cons never discuss it publically before; they tweet about it and upload the video to YouTube after.
