I did this one for the What The Fur? art show, on cover stock with Tria markers. The theme was Ninjas vs. Pirates, and in all the artwork I did, the pirates were dogs, the ninjas were cats. It was just fun for me to do it that way.
This one didn't sell there, so I'm offering it here. It's 8.5"x11" cover stock, and I'm listing it at $50 plus shipping (which is regular mail unless you ask for better).

The trick is to work on them while they're wet, and work in layers (a new layer of the same colour will darken the applied colour a bit). Also, stay away from marker paper. You want the markers to bleed in order to mix well.
I also like to use a lighter colour, once I've done my base and shadows, over the top of everything to blend the shadows and soften the hard edges.
For fur, markers that are getting dry can work well, as you can see from the chest fur.
