Hey folks! Figured I would make this to help clear up some of the confusion I've heard about when talking about the Pulse canon. So here is a little blurb about that and some rambling here in the description.
The Pulse canon is the OG dragonscape canon that existed since before I made this account. During early 2020 I was super burned out on it hence why I spent a while in a new canon "The Reset Canon". But as of recent I've been enjoying getting back into this older version of the dragonscape and a lot of that has been updating it with new lore to line up better with the things I enjoy about the reset canon.
Really at the end of the day there aren't many differences between the Pulse and Reset canons and most of the stories that happened in the reset could just as well happen in the Pulse canon. They both share most of the same magical aspects, both have the sivilão, both focus on the peoples of the america being turned into dragons and transitioning into small tribal societies in the aftermath of what is more or less a magical apocalpyse. Both setting also share all of the Balãr such as Rodurimer in the recent comic as well as things that we haven't discussed yet like obelisks, breeds, voicelakes, spirits and whatnot.
The only real differences are the more scrappy technological state of the drekir in the pulse tribes and the incredibly light presence of humanity in the DragonScape.
Drekir still make many things primitively, pots, baskets, much of their clothing, etc. Though a lot of a tribes time is spent scavenging through the abandoned cities that were ruined by magic. So you often see a mix of primitive technology and various tools, clothing, and buildings that have elements of improvised scrap built things in them. It's not nearly enough to bring them out of their primitive ways of life though it does help supplment their natural materials and primitive crafts.
There are also humans in the dragonscape in the form of small, rarely found isolated human research or resource bases. This does deserve a ramble or blurb of it's own with some newer images but generally speaking there are humans in the dragonscape, though their presence is heavily limited due to mana having the ability to turn them into drekir much like magic transformed the people of the americas.
I hope that helps clear some differences up! If you have questions let me know of course

Going by Oli's -- er, the hiker's -- experience, those human emplacements are sealed off from the outside and have to go to some lengths to ensure there's no mana in the water, or things go badly for them fast. Also they can't leave, and may be stuck out of contact with the outside world forever. If they were able to accept drekir contact, they'd probably have a lot to offer in terms of metal working tech and chemistry, but if the hiker's anything to go by, probably most wouldn't even consider trying.
It'll be interesting to see one of the human emplacements come up, and what the local drekir think about them. I'm also curious to see more explanations about the Balãr, Sivilão, and why both seem to speak the same language alien to before reality broke, but I gather that's coming much later.

There are a lot of measures for human outposts within the DragonScape to keep mana out of certain spaces and mana filtering technology is one of the most rapidly innovated and important pieces of technology for humans in the DragonScape... Doesn't really stop them from drekifying as eventually something goes wrong but it does at least keep them human as long as possible.
Generally human outposts keep to themselves as they are more focused on exporting goods (inanimate objects can leave the dragonscape, not living things though) and raw resources from the dragonscape. There are also research outposts too.
There is also a fair bit of worldbuilding on interactions between drekir and human outposts over time though of course Hiker hasn't really arrived at that sort of point in the DragonScape. Though considering the very very small scale of human colonialism it never really becomes a widespread and well understood phenomena amongst the drekir outside of specific situations that will be touched on specifically.
And yeah some of those topics may be touched on in the Comic later though I honestly have no idea how soon I will be able to start hitting on these things... considering the speed of the comic and me doing my best to hold true to the lore I've built over the years it may be a year before I can draw some human colonials or potentially a couple years... no idea

Nice, nice, looking forward to seeing it! Val (and a few others) sent me, by the way. Read through every comic page you've got in folders in the past three days. But I'm certainly no stranger to things taking a while to make in comics! Plus, I've got a couple of my own to write, both in my own settings and in others', and I'd hope people don't try to rush me either. We're all in this boat together.
I wonder how the first outpost we'll see has been treating their newly drekified members...

Hope to not let you down! Pretty crazy to hear other folks recommending the comic and whatnot.
And agreed don't let folks rush you, working at the pace you're comfortable with is the most important thing, it is a hobby and all so enjoyment is necessary. I'll keep an eye out on your future comic work as well!
It would be a confusing day at the outpost to be sure
