Rygone watched the weather outside grow colder and colder as he worked on his various projects throughout the day. In the beginning, it had only been a simple overcast. Grey clouds obscuring the sun's rays like a blanket covering the heat from a fireplace and replacing it with a comfortable chill. However, as the day went on and on the clouds steadily grew larger and blacker, their fluffy puff weighed down by water that was begging to turn into beautiful snow. And snow it did. It had started only a mere hour ago, but the young man had excitedly watched as the flakes floated down. At first, it had only been a few at a time. Heralds for their tiny frosty brethren. Then more and more until a white sheen started to cover the landscape.
Winter was here. It had taken its sweet time, but winter was finally here. Rygone stretched out his sore muscles, college-work having forced him into a tight ball of concentration. He always enjoyed walking outside when it was raining or snowing and this time was no exception. There was a sense of peace to be garnered in the ritual of just walking and feeling the drops settle upon your body like tiny wet kisses. Work could wait for a while longer, now was time to relax.
Thankfully he was already wearing a long shirt which would help with the cold weather. Amusingly, it was one with stripes and a Pokeball on it. A personal symbol he had adopted over the years and never really saw the point of replacing. It was comfortable but something was missing. Rygone's neck shivered from a passing draft and he snapped his fingers. Of course! A scarf! What better clothing could be appropriate for the season?
Rummaging through his winter sack where he kept his gloves and other similar cold-weather accessories he dug out a black scarf. It had been a good while since he had worn this but it was a good scarf. Thick and woolly against his skin it would be perfect for keeping out the chill during his walk. Slipping it over his neck as he headed for the door in preparation to wrap it Rygone felt a tingle go throughout his entire body.
It was a familiar sensation but it still took Rygone's breath away regardless. It was a sign that he was about to transform. But into what?
Looking over his body quickly in surprise, the young man's found his transformation's starting point. Bright blue fur covered the areas where his hands had touched the black scarf, the obvious trigger in this particular sequence. Only bearing four fingers, they appeared to have shrunken down into semi-flexible paws. On their palm, smooth plush pads had formed which felt nice against his winter clothing. Almost like he was feeling again for the first time in his life.
What creature had bright blue paws? Rygone's mind turned towards Vaporeon but this creature had fur, not smooth skin.
The young man shivered. Brrr, was it getting colder? Rygone wrapped up his scarf around his neck, feeling a modicum of warmth settle into his body. Below, his feet pressed out from within his shoes, their developed paws restricted by the material. Knowing what could happen, the young man kicked off his does to reveal frosty blue foot paws. Sighing in relief, he tested his paws against the wooden floor. They clicked against the ground, his claws sticking out, but they felt stable. Wincing, he could feel as the changes marched up his leg, leaving him a bit wobbly before his new digitigrade legs settled.
Continuing his way to the door, his growing diamond tipped tail began to wag in excitement. The cold air around him was feeling more and more comfortable. Almost like he was becoming one with it. His lengthening ears flickered as he heard a stray wind outside jingle the falling snow like tiny bells. It was a beautiful sound and he could feel his heart swelling with contentment.
Adventure tugging at his legs he continued on his way, only pausing for a second in front of a mirror placed near his entranceway. It showed a rather enchanting young human in the midst of transforming into an icy creature. A shiny Glaceon. Rygone chuckled, his increasingly blue-tinted reflection doing the same. Of course it was Glaceon. It was winter after all!
Shaking his head in amusement, his head flaps lightly plapping against his body, he opened the door to be greeted by a rush of cold air. Only, it did not feel cold at all. In fact, it was almost like he was receiving a hug from an old friend. Taking care not to catch his flat tail in the door, Rygone paused only for a second to let out a breath, his incredibly frosty breath somehow colder than even the winter's air around him. Settling on a path, his foot paws crunched lightly in the snow, his weight seeming to float on top of the thin layer of packed flakes. He was the cold now.
As his muzzle finished growing and completing his handsome features, Rygone stuck out his longer tongue to taste a falling flake.
The young Glaceon did not wonder when he was going to shift back at the moment. Only how he hoped the beautiful snow would continue falling around him.
When it comes to transforming into one of my many eeveelution sonas, I notice that the process sometimes gets kicked off by objects that each form favors. For my Flareon, he may enjoy marshmallows and cinnamon flavors, for example, while my Umbreon may enjoy writing materials. My Glaceon here really likes his scarf. Both warm and comfy, it is a great part of his attire that helps to tell everyone that "Hey, it's me."
With winter here I'm certainly not going to resist. Being colder than even the snow caking the landscape does a lot for making the season pass by comfortably. Although... I do hope I transform again before the summer weather kicks back in. A Glaceon in the hot sun is just the exact opposite of comfortable!
