Ideal size for dragons? There is no ideal Dragon size. Dragon size is just being a dragon. You could be a kobold or a terrifying great wyrm sleeping for millennia underneath of whole landmasses and you'd still be dragon size to me.
Fantastical thinking aside, a good 8 feet tall and up is pretty good.
