This was a rather fun commission hehe. Not only did I get to redraw myself decked out in my steampunk gear, I got to design a new outfit for someone else as well! odin36519 asked me to take his fursona and give him a steampunk outfit, which isn't too hard. Though he said he wanted similar goggles to the ones I had on, he said that normally his fursona only wore pants.
It's actually a lot trickier than it sounds to draw someone who only wears pants normally to look steampunkish. So I picked out a few qualities and came up with this outfit. Steampunk generally centers around the victorian era. Because of that time frame, I selected knickers and spats(which are usually overlooked but an awesome accessory on anthros XD) in place of general pants. To go with the goggles, I also added a nice top hat again an accent of the era.
Now as for colors for his outfit, generally steampunk is associated only with browns, olive green, and gold. Steampunk goes WAY beyond that. Steampunk really can use ANY color or metal, there's no written rule that says that a certain color/metal is out of line. During the victorian era, jewel tones were actually extremely popular in high fashion. So color actually isn't forbidden. XD Since odin36519 is a snow leopard, I went with a bit more cool colors for him. Blacks with a few hints of brown, and then silver.
So hopefully, if anyone else wants to do a steampunk design, I shared some of my thoughts on steampunk fashion. And hopefully we'll see some more out there! But otherwise I'm glad to share this with you guys. ^^

Well, it'll be a while, but I just might have to develop a steampunk story. I've already tackled a number of subjects, most of them usually are fairly popular. I'd have to do a little research, I have to admit I'm not all that familiar with steampunk, though it does have its charms. ;) Would you be interested if I did?
Oh, I could help with that, I think. I'm thinking right now of an idea for a story about the steampunk era meets the rise of electricity, Clemikou would be joining another character I've already got in mind along with a few others to be determined later to sort of do a two eras meet in one place sort of story. :)
Well, I'll tell you what. This sort of project usually works best with volunteers, and here's how I work. I request a free hand with characters, meaning I don't need to check in with everyone for every little thing as well as volunteers not henpecking me if things are slightly off (which so far has never happened, neither the henpecking nor the being off part). I treat everyone's character with appropriate respect and generally keep them in character as much as possible. I look at as in they're playing a role in a movie, and I do not hold anyone to adopting anything I do with their character as canon, unless you want to. Nor do I declare anything that occurs in the story as official continuity outside of the story itself. Basically, what happens in vegas. You like what I do and want to adapt it to your history, go ahead, you don't, no harm there. It's simply an alternate take, a chance to do something different.
Now of course I don't want to pressure you, so I'll let you think about it for a bit and if you'd like to be kept up on updates you can keep an eye on my journal for when I post a casting call. If you'd like you can take a glance at my story index in my profile and read one or two if you like or if you're pressed for time, just skim the comments. ;)
The role is pretty much guaranteed yours until either you give me a solid decline or I put up the casting call and you choose not to give me consent. You don't have to hurry, it'll be a while before I move post the casting call and a bit more before it gets worked on. Also, and this is something I might consider doing just for you, I'd be willing to possibly work up a one page treatment to give you a 'proof of concept' if you'd like.
