An Ancient Amphitheater two coves away from Smyrna
Talos:
Over the weekend, I went two coves away from Smyrna to see an ancient city my coworkers had told me about. Upon entering, I was awed by what the people of Eterc could make even over 3000 years ago and how it has stood the test of time. However, I also felt a sense of sorrow that I hadn’t felt in over fifteen years. Nonetheless, I climbed up to the top of this amphitheater and sat down on one of the seats and imagined the friendly banter of the spectators of events that ended over 3000 years ago. I thought how everyone in this theater has been long dead, and only the stories of a few who lived in this city are remembered. I realize now that this amphitheater is a memorial to all of those who lived their lives in this city, contributed their part, and silently returned to Eterc. This is the ultimate fate of all of us, even this amphitheater and Smyrna will eventually fall for the last time, never to be rebuilt again. However, with the work my co-workers and I are doing, we hope to take the people of Eterc to the stars above to push this ultimate fate of being forgotten into a future so distant that even the idea of time as we know it no longer exists
