This is a story I’m gonna probably work on a lot as it’s kinda important to me so I hope you guys like it

Chapter 1: lashing out never solves anything

3rd person

It was a rainy day in the big city as anthros walk with either umbrellas over their heads or with their hoods from their hoodies up. There were animals of all kinds from the biggest elephant to the smallest mouse. Some were talking as they walked, playing inside where it was warm and dry inside, or were currently having lunch.

However there was a lone figure walking down the sidewalk that looked very very different from the beings around him; he was wearing a cloak that was a bit too big on him but he didn’t seem to care at all. There was the reflective look in his eyes from the rectangular framed glasses he was wearing and a bit of his brown hair can be seen from the hood of the cloak he had, his white arms can be slightly seen as well through the cloak and on his left wrist was a silver bracelet with a very pretty white gem on it. The thing that was odd though is this figure was small and I mean small compared to a tiger or an elephant actually the figure looked no older than a child. The figure reached into his blue jeans and pulled out a few dollars, it wasn’t easy to get the money as he didn’t have a home...that and the currency he was use to didn’t work in this world so it took a heck of a long time to get it traded in for the right currency.

“Okay...okay...I think this should be enough...I hope” the little boy whimpers a little and goes up to a restaurant but…he knew he would get odd looks if he just entered as is so he needed something to be at least for awhile. He enters the alleyway near the restaurant and hides behind a few boxes. After making sure no one followed him he takes off his cloak revealing something that would get him weird looks, after all he is sure that a human would definitely get weird looks from the people of this world but that was gonna change.

“......change me to….a fox” he whispers and touches his gem causing it to glow red and he closes his eyes feeling the magic of his special artifact envelope him but no matter he had to do this a lot during….the incident he went through. Anyway his hands start twitching and start growing pure light blue fur on them and they both lose one finger as his nails grew a bit sharper as well. The fur goes up his thin arms turning white and get a bit thinner as well as his shoulders as the white fur goes onto his chest and under his green hoodie that he had to steal. The fur spreads down his legs making him a bit shorter but not by a lot as his feet turn light blue and grow paw pads and his feet go down to 3 toes on each foot as paw pads appear on his hands. There’s a bulge in the back of his pants so he uses his new claws to make a hole in his pants being very careful and once it is good enough a fluffy fox tail bursts from his pants, it had snow white fur and light blue fur near the tip now all that was left was the face. His head gets covered in white fur as his brown hair turns white and kinda fuses with his fur, his ears start twitching and burst upwards becoming cute fox ears and he notices a huge improvement in his hearing, his nose turns black and small and a bit wet as it starts to push away from where it was before, his mouth changes with his tongue getting a bit longer and his teeth becoming sharper the only thing that stayed was his cloths that changed to fit his new body along with his bracelet and glasses, and his blue grey eyes.

He was now a arctic fox

He opens his eyes looking at himself and smiles a little bit but it immediately becomes a frown again he kinda hated transforming as he did it a lot but he really didn’t have a choice if he wanted to avoid stares he NEEDED to transform. He puts his hands in his pockets and pulls his hood up and exits the alleyway and into the restaurant hoping to not draw attention to himself. The place is very busy as it is lunch time. There was a tigress at the counter taking orders for the small line of customers that formed there was a bunny going around handing people their orders that were on trays and the little fox boy could see a bear in the back making the food along with a few other coworkers of different species. He goes into the line keeping his eyes on the floor to not draw attention but that didn’t seem to work as well as he would hoped and some of the anthros there glanced at him a bit curious mainly because it was odd that someone his age would be without a parent or guardian around. Eventually it was his turn and he finally makes eye contact with the tigress.

“C-can I have a diet soda with a hamburger please?” The little fox asks taking out the good amount of money that he had with him and the big cat smiles at the cuteness of the little fox before nodding and taking the money and placing the order.

“Where are your parents little one and what's your name?” The tigress asks with a head tilt and the fox gets a good look at her and notices something surprising the tigress had pure white fur with nice black stripes and nice purple eyes, she was wearing a red dress with a pink blue apron over it and she had a name tag that said Ciralyn.

“Oh uh….m-my name is Tyler ma’m and….my parents aren’t around anymore” Tyler whimpers with his head low and Ciralyn’s eyes widen at that, a child losing his parents and even worse this little one looked no older than 8 years old.

“Oh my goodness you poor thing...go find a table little one and I’ll bring your food to you shortly” Ciralyn says with a smile taking the money and gesturing to the tables, Tyler nods and starts walking to find a table with a few people looking at him confused and it was clear that the staring were making him clearly uncomfortable. He finds a booth and sits down. It was more than the truth of what he had to go through; it was like a stain that he cannot forget about or get rid of. He had to go around this world finding the shards to his bracelet’s gem after it got shattered into 8 pieces. One of the shards went to him and the other to his friend but the thing was it was his friend who was like a brother to him that shattered it after removing it from the statue they found forcefully as his friend wanted to sell it for money while Tyler wanted to leave it so others can enjoy it unfortunately removing the gem caused his friend to transform into a monster and in his power filled rush he turned Tyler into a fox and left to find the other shards but first to blackmail Tyler to give him the shard Tyler had he went and….killed his parents. With help from a new friend and his determination he was able to defeat his friend and turn himself back to normal. However he had nothing left back in his world so he decided to stay in the anthro world. Ever since then though he hasn’t seen his new friend recently and got a bit worried.

“...ugh….I wish we never found this stupid gem” he says looking at his bracelet with a few tears in his eyes ever since he found this gem it caused him a living hell. Of course it gave him the power to transform into whatever he wishes which would be a good power if he didn’t lose literally everything he loved to get it...then again it was his friend that transformed him in the first place and the one who killed parents but that didn’t change what happened to him after all it all started when he found the pretty gem.

‘Here you go little one” his little moment in his head is interrupted when Ciralyn comes over holding a tray and places it on the table giving him a friendly smile.

“O-oh thanks Mrs…..Ciralyn” he says looking at the name tag that’s on her apron and she waves it off.

“Oh stop with being formal call me Cira young Tyler” she says with a smile and gives him a head pat.

“Let me know if you need anything” she says and goes back to the counter but Tyler was looking into her eyes. They were slits because she was a cat but…..there was something else in her eyes that seemed off….not only that they reminded Tyler of another animal with slits for eyes when angry….it scared him a little but he shook it off and began to eat his fill. It was so good as he hadn’t eaten in a while and if he did eat it wasn’t as good as this right here. Tyler finishes his burger and drinks his diet soda with a small burp he rests on the seat he is on for a bit but then the front door to the restaurant opens and a bunch of cheering children enter the place and go to another room of the restaurant that was made for events like a birthday, or holiday party like for Halloween or Christmas, or even Valentine’s Day. Tyler looks over to see the kids and immediately goes a bit pale. They were dragons...strange looking ones but dragons either way. They had long serpent like bodies with arms and legs. They were all different but the thing they all have in common is they had a pendant with a small orb on it of many different colors for each dragon. They all go into the room and Tyler is sitting in his booth breathing rather quickly at the sight of the dragons having a few flashbacks.

“.....okay Tyler...take it easy...they aren’t gonna hurt you….they are just dragons your age” he says breathing in and out gently before standing up and leaving his tray and going to where the other dragons kids and the dragon caretakers went, he does notice that the other customers are looking to where the dragons went a bit nervous and a bit afraid? To be honest Tyler couldn’t blame them, dragons were sometimes big, scary and loved to hurt others but Tyler couldn’t settle his curiosity down at all these dragons were children and were not that big unlike the caretakers though cause they were huge! He enters the room and looks around the place it seems like it was a birthday party for one of the dragons there.

Not knowing what else to do Tyler walks around the room with his hands behind his back looking around the place. There was a ball pit that was nice and clean, a play area, and even a small bouncy castle where a few dragons were bouncing. It was dragon proof meaning that the claws and fire or whatever element the dragons were will not rip or destroy it.

“Hey are you alright?” A female voice asks getting Tyler’s attention and he looks to see a dragon with red scales and a black underbelly and blue eyes along with a black orb pendant and horns that remind Tyler of a ram. However Tyler was just staring at her in a bit of fear starting to have flashbacks again of what happened and it was starting to take its toll on him.

“....hehe tag your it!” The little dragon laughs and taps his arms causing Tyler to gasp and back away a little breathing faster and faster his PTSD starting to take effect. The dragon then blows a small blast of fire at him to snap him out of it only for him to block it with his arm...only problem is that it was his left arm and it hits his bracelet. Luckily though the metal it was made of was very strong so it didn’t do anything however the gem started sparking with the magic that it had causing the eyes of the dragons and the caretakers of them to look over to see what was wrong and to Tyler’s horror he found his fur, ears, and muzzle shrinking as he regained his lost fingers and toes. Before he even knew it he went from a nerdy fox to a nerdy human boy again. The entire restaurant is silent in shock at what they were seeing cause here humans were considered fairy tales and aren’t from this world so to suddenly see one right in front of them was considered shocking.

“A…..a human?!” One of the dragon caretakers says in absolute shock at the sight before them as the dragon children look at each other not sure what to say or think but then...a big green one with a red underbelly and red eyes and blue horns on the back of his head and on his cheeks, he looked to be around teen age from the look of things maybe around 14-15.

“Hehe a human?” The dragon says with a smirk on his face starting to walk over to him “I thought they were supposed to be bigger but this is just weak!” He says crossing his arms and tapping his foot getting a good look at Tyler who was looking at the dragon in absolute fear.

“Paro that’s enough!” The female dragon around Tyler’s age says growling at the now identified Paro with a bit of anger in her voice and looks over to Tyler and gives him a friendly smile.

“I’m Autumn, who are you?” She asks with a smile slowly reaching out her hand towards Tyler but in Tyler’s panic filled state immediately taps his gem turning his hand into a tiger claw and smacks her away in fear.

“S-stay away from me dragon!” He says standing up and starting to back away as Autumn puts a hand to her cheek where Tyler hit her and lets just say her friends don’t react well to this at all and starts to surround Tyler growling.

“What’s your deal she was trying to he-“ the female dragon gets cut off with a punch to the face in the form of a snow leopard hand from Tyler. Seeing that he didn’t have much of a choice Tyler gets into a battle stance as the dragons growl and then the four of them charge.

“STAY AWAY YOU STUPID REPTILES!” Tyler shouts and gets ready. First up a orange one tries to punch him in the head but Tyler ducks and gives her a right hook to the cheek and kicks her away from him. Next a pink one tries to use her tail to whip Tyler but he is one step away of her and grabs the tail and starts spinning and spinning and then lets go causing her to be swung a good distance and hits the wall across the room. A purple one tries to breath electricity at Tyler but he quickly grabs one of the balloons from the party table and holds it in front of him causing the electricity to be reflected away and a bit of it stuns the purple dragon and Tyler takes this moment to grab her by the horns and pulls her head down and it collides with his knee causing her nose to bleed and for her to be knocked unconscious. Finally a yellow dragon comes up and growls at the state of her friends and makes her wings appear on her back and charges at Tyler. Tyler’s eyes widen at the sudden speed of the dragon and quickly taps his gem turning it orange and quickly makes the energy go into his arms causing them to grow feathers and get bigger and in his haste he flaps really hard on the ground causing him to be launched into the air and out of the dragons way. The dragon’s eyes widen and she growls and turns around to charge at him in midair...only to get a face full of Tyler’s shoe causing her to be knocked back into a wall unconscious.

“T-there….now please stay awa-'' Tyler is cut off when a blast of energy hits his back causing him to be knocked into the ground and for his wings to disappear. He looks up to see a big dragon with pink scales and a purple underbelly and red eyes but the thing about her was that she had a crown on her head that was gold and had beautiful blue diamonds in them and embedded in the crown was a small orb like the ones all the other dragons had.

“When one of my guards said about a human causing trouble for the little ones of the dragon fun time daycare I thought he was joking but apparently I was sadly mistaken” she says with an angry look on her face looking down at the human child in front of her who is looking at her in absolute fear.

‘L-look its not what it looks like I was only defending myself” Tyler says holding his hands up in fear not wanting to attack this dragon cause unlike the other ones this one looked very very strong and powerful.

“Really? Cause all I saw was a little brat beating up the little ones for no apparent reason” the queen says with her arms crossed causing Tyler to look down in fear.

“But dragon I-“ Tyler tries to speak but the dragon holds up a finger not wanting to hear it.

“My name is Myra, queen of the Connection dragons” she says with a growl and then looks at Tyler her eyes completely red. “And you are in a lot of trouble, human” she says and snaps her finger causing one of the dragons here who Tyler realizes were one of the guards by his armor to bring over a box of some kind which the queen takes and opens it taking something out. She holds it up to Tyler and Tyler sees a pendant similar to what the other connection dragons were wearing, the string was brown and the orb was pink in color. Queen Myra grabs Tyler by the torso causing him to struggle and even worse he couldn’t tap his gem to transform his was out of this.

“You are gonna be punished, we Connection dragons are very friendly with each other so if you mess with one of us you mess with the rest of us, so as punishment...you are gonna be us” queen Myra says putting the pendant on Tyler’s neck and immediately the thing glows and Tyler”s body starts sparking with pink energy.

“W-what's happening to me?!” Tyler says and growls as he feels his body changing for what felt like the millionth time today. His hands lose a finger each and start becoming smooth as scales grow to cover them and his nails get sharper and turn pink in color. The scales spread up his arms and onto his shoulders as his spine started growing and getting longer along with his body as blue scales cover that as well, however on his belly and chest pink scales start to grow on that. His legs get covered in blues scales and his feet lose two toes each as his nails turn pink. His pants and hoodie also start to rip and then burst off his body because of the blue wings with lighter blue membranes sprout from his back and a tail sprouting from his rear end that was pink on the bottom of it and blue on the rest. He feels the energy ball go up to his head and braces himself, his ears turn purple and sprout up onto the top of his head and two pink horns sprout from the back of the top of his head. His face pushes out into a dragon snout and his scent of smell and hearing are greatly increased. However the strangest part of the change catches him off guard, his brown hair starts turning purple and starts growing and growing down his neck and down his back all the way down to his tail and then his eyes start to sting a little causing him to close them and when he reopens them they are now a emerald green but he didn’t know that yet.

Tyler was now a connection dragon.

He looks down at himself and gasps as Queen Myra drops him on the ground. There was nothing left familiar from his human form like this, the only thing that was left was his glasses and his bracelet which he still had on his face and arm as they adjusted to fit his new head.

“My my...you turned out so much better than I thought you would,” Queen Myra says with a smile as she walks over to the new connection dragon. Tyler gently looks up as his body still aches from being transformed like that.

‘Now then….you are coming with me little one” she says and starts reaching out to grab him and Tyler starts shaking in fear and in that sudden fear.

He runs away.

He ran out of the room away from the dragons, away from Autumn, away from the queen, away from the other dragons away from the customers staring at him, away from Ciralyn who was looking at the new dragon concerned, away from the restaurant. He looks around running down the wet sidewalk wondering where to go and notices a forest and in his panicked filled mind and state he ran ran and ran some more

Into the dark forest.
