This dopey comic strip is based on experiences with all of the websites I post drawings on, but twitter primarily! The specific wording "active watcher check" for example I do not know that I have seen off of deviantart but I have encountered the same annoyed desperation elsewhere.
If I embrace invisibility it is the same as giving up! As long as I make the pictures I will post them all over the place, and merely automate the process for locations where I rarely have meaningful responses.

I've avoided Twitter like the plague. I do (in non-Covid times) attend cons, and many friends use it there to let each other know where they are ("I'm about to go into ___ panel") in case one wants to find the other, since it's noisy and a ringtone or test notification may go unheard. But I don't do it, I just check friends' accounts if I need to find one of them.
