Odraani Tankers (Odrana Kraackössanau) are under-represented and unappreciated members of the army. They do the dirty work of crushing resistance in hot zones on colony worlds.
Odraani armoured are sealed and pressurised with oxygen rich air; wearing full body environmental suits is impossible in the cramped compartments; in case the crew needs to bail out, they have small air canisters that can provide them with breathing air for an hour - calculated by scientists to be enough to get into safety - The high-pressure, oxygen rich air means that Odraani tanks are extremely prone to devastating fires.
Being in on the frontline of the combat zones, they have a high mortality rate; that, with the lack of respect from the navy resulted a close bond among tankers.
Tankers are also the combat role with the second most body regulations - first being pilots - strict height, weight, limb number, tail and horn length limits must be met.

every time you reload the gun air will leak, unless its auto-loaded and the crew is totally 100% sealed off from the gun, which could be disastrous is the gun jams-
I feel like their tank design is far more complex than this description lets on.

It could work like a torpedo tube with an automatic door over the muzzle that pops open when the breech is locked, then closes again when the breech is unlocked. It would still lose some gas each time but since that gas would be full of smoke and fumes from firing it might be desirable. Or it could have some kind of rotating, two tsgae breech where unlocking and opening it closes it off from the rest of the barrel.

Or, it could be a deliberate feature to motivate crews to drill, drill and drill some more when it comes to loading. Bet they'd get it down to a fine art if every tenth of a second with the breech open means losing breathable air...
