Para and Medic – a mutant character, which is gonna fit perfectly for post-apocalyptic fandoms such as Metro, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Fallout etc.
It was inspired by Great Cormorant (lat. Phalacrocorax carbo) species.

◇ Prehistory ◇

Two fetuses developed in one egg, which was the first test that determined life. The fight for their lives was so fierce that they merged with each other, forming a new creature - a two-headed four-winged mutant.
The mother refused to feed them, and the chicks survived only thanks to scientists who studied the behavior of birds in this area. Mutant "Bird-104" became a new name that the "creature” received as soon as it appeared within the walls of the "Center" - a huge building, inside which multidirectional experiments were carried out to study anomalies, mutants and other substances. Both hazardous and safe research samples were stored in the underground levels of the building.
Unexpected happened during one of the experiments which was supposed to be a breakthrough in science since the results of the study could push humanity to astonishing discoveries, and many more! The experiment was unsuccessful and Center was partially destroyed by Anomaly Explosion.
A radioactive Zone has formed for many kilometers around. The bird was able to escape from the dilapidated building, but stayed in the Zone.
The stalkers nicknamed them Para and Medic, taking an encounter of this bird a good sign: "they seem to feel and see anomalies, which people use when following them to survive."
There is a rumor among stalkers and guides that Para and Medic are conscious and are able to choose: who they help to survive; therefore, each time stalkers meet the bird, they try to appease them with food.
