The work opened pretty well. Your descriptions and details build the world which often first person writers struggle with.
At the moment there is very little character depth, but it is the second chapter, you still have plenty of time to build it up.

Yeah. I'm trying to nudge my way into the world first, and give the place some physical presence before I start going into the hows and whys of the people in it. Basically, learning more about the people in her life as Rebecca does.
