(Geoff)
The life of Geoff Neutral was one of many ups and downs. Unlike his relatives in Ride City, Geoff's family had never done too well financially. As a result, Geoff had to get odd jobs alongside his parents at a young age. Geoff mainly worked as a paperboy and did some freelance work on the side to make ends meet. His mom worked as a small-time berry farmer, while his dad worked as a construction worker in a different city. Any money that the family made was pooled towards essentials, utilities, and Geoff's college money. Anything leftover was used to self-indulge a little. Geoff loved his parents but ultimately hated his family's lifestyle. Even worse was Geoff's aunt and uncle from Ride City. They were generally nasty people. Every time Geoff's parents asked for some money, the relatives would sneer and simply give Geoff's parents a tiny sum of money. Because of that, along w/ the aunt and uncles' hateful views towards anyone who wasn't a straight human, Geoff ultimately despised them. The only thing about them that Geoff actually liked was their twin children, Gasper and Gwen. The twins, despite their upbringing, were actually pretty freaking cool. Gasper, despite his scowl and rough exterior, could be pretty nice and could potentially be fun to be around. Gwen, on the other hand, was more of an open dork. As a result, Geoff enjoyed the two quite a bit. Due to Geoff's chill and easygoing nature, the sentiment was pretty mutual. As such, while hated when his aunt and uncle visited, he felt it was a necessary evil because of how much he adored his cousins. On a different note, when it came to what Geoff wanted to do w/ his life, that's where things got a little messy. He wanted to get out of his parents' home and live in his own home, working things out from there. While Geoff didn't like the idea of leaving his parents, Geoff wanted to strike out on his own. Plus, it wasn't like he could live w/ his parents forever. As for other positives to Geoff's life, there was Silph City. It was where his dad worked and where Geoff would go to find temporary jobs. Luckily, the city was only a few miles from his home in Berrytown, Minnesota. Three years after becoming a young adult, Geoff met two people in that place that made the trip there more worth it. The first was Patrick. He was a black demon w/ heterochromia (one eye was red while the other was cyan). Patrick was a co-worker of Geoff's dad and was a pretty friendly guy. Sometimes, when they had the time, Geoff and Patrick chatted. Geoff talked about his daily issues, whereas Patrick spoke about the rest of his family, who also lived in Ride City, New York. While Geoff thought that a couple of members were strange (namely the two patchworks), he found them interesting, nonetheless. The other person was Lola. Even among a world of monsters, Lola was an oddity. She was part of a manmade species known as TV-heads. Basically, they were people crossed w/ TVs. Lola ran a repair shop alone, and she'd frequently ask Geoff to help her out sometimes. Geoff saw Lola as a homie. She might've... saw him as a bit more... The only bad thing that happened w/ these two was that Patrick got possessed at one point. Luckily, Patrick did get brought back to his usual self, and Geoff got to see his cousins early. Though, it was ultimately a pretty hectic experience. It did get Geoff thinking about the Freelance Seven's line of work, though. A couple of months later, after saving money and checking out homes, it was finally time for Geoff to move. While Geoff's parents were saddened by this, they understood that Geoff had to leave the nest at some point, so to speak. As Geoff got his stuff ready, he called Lola to pick him up. He was moving to an apartment in Silph City. Once Lola came, Geoff shared some last hugs w/ his folks. After that, Geoff got in the car, and Lola drove off.
"Hey," she said.
Geoff sighed.
"Hey."
"You gonna be ok living on your own?" Lola asked.
Geoff shrugged and looked back wistfully. Lola smiled reassuringly.
"I know it's... a big change," Lola said quietly, "If you ever need someone, just know that I'll be there. Ok?"
Geoff gave a tired smile.
"Thanks, Lols."
"No problem, Eddie."
Geoff rolled his eyes w/ a smile. It was a nickname that stuck after the two friends had realized that Geoff resembled a certain Marvel character. The two friends drove off into the unknown, ignorant as to what the future had in store...
