I have, and I debated bringing it up, actually. It just frustrates me to see someone align themselves with an animal and then make simple mistakes. Far too many kangaroos and foxes that look like dogs, rabbits with toepads, badgers that look like raccoons, otters with no webbing, etc.
I personally find it easier to simply start from the assumption that my characters are a hodgepodge of preferred features, just to avoid things I'm not aware of. This is a "Beckaroo" as you said, which might be just an anthro kangaroo named Becka, or something close to a kangaroo, with other features thrown in for aesthetics. I suppose that would be up to the Beckaroo in question...
There are also, like you said, aesthetics to consider. It is hard, without inspiration, to make something look right, and this pattern of knee and calf padding is reliable... It would be technically more accurate to give her two-foot-long shoes, but it'd look doofy.
Kangaroos support themselves on the balls of their feet while in motion... this configuration allows for a modest extension of the foot, while maintaining aesthetics, and being at least explainable...
