Full fathom five thy father lies;
Of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes:
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.
Sea-nymphs hourly ring his knell:
Ding-dong.
Hark! now I hear them—Ding-dong, bell.
-Ariel's Song, The Tempest, William Shakespeare
I'm done!
This shawl took fucking FOREVER, but I'm really proud of it. And super glad that I'm done with it. Lace knitting is hard and very tedious. I made this to stretch over a parasol frame, but I might sell it on Etsy as a wedding veil instead. Or a crazy baby blanket.
Shipwreck was knitted on sizes 4, 6, 8, and 11 needles, with a cotton/silk blended yarn I picked up at the sheep and wool festival. It has a four foot radius and it a little small for a shawl, but makes a comfy scarf.
