Few know that before Caleb settled down to the relaxed, contented life of owning a bed and breakfast, his cubhood dream had always been to soar among the stars, and court danger on epic terms as a daring rescue pilot... laughing in the face of impossible odds, relying on instinct and cunning reflexes to see him through each mission with his crew, trying not to lose his lunch when he finds himself in an emergency freefall after some uppity alien fighter uses his shuttle for target practice...

With that in mind,  squeakie did this great drawing of Caleb and his phoenix co-pilot, Sirrus, diving through the atmosphere after escaping yet another narrow brush with certain disaster.

This scenario inspired by a story that  kugauk was working on, and let me preview a hint of, detailing Caleb's final spacefaring adventure before settling down to a fat, happy life with Sandra.
