Man, that cloud was funneling, you're lucky it didn't become a tornado! That's some mighty awesome photography

its not a funnel, thats a very cylindrical spot of rain, it hit me a little bit later on, wasnt much more than a couple hundred yards across then it was gone

No no, I mean the clouds, not the rain. I know the difference lol. They look like they ere getting a bit active and developing mesocyclonic activity.


I'm kinda paranoid about storms cause we get tornados, so I've been a bit of a storm spotter type.

lol nah, there wasn't any rotational activity in this storm, it ended up mostly being very electrically charged with only a small amount of rain, didnt come with a front or anything. it just decided to come in from the gulf waters and say hello.

we get tornadoes too, they just usually come with the hurricanes as hitchhikers. last major hurricane spawned about 250 or so tornadoes

Oi geez, that's alot. I'd be scared witless through that. We live on the panhandle of TX and usually only get 2-5 a year and usually outside of town.

i live down between Houston and Galveston, when Ike came through thats what made most of the damage was Ike spawning lost of small tornadoes

I'm assuming it's the 18mm-55mm f/3.5-5.6? Same kit lens for my Rebel XSi and one of the best kit lenses on the market.

yeah the 18-55, im selling my T1i to a friend though, I switched to a Nikon D90

Oh dang, let me know how that goes. I'm thinking of getting a Nikon as my secondary.

god i love my D90 and ive only had it for a day. multiple exposure in camera is nice

Rain columns are so hard to capture! I've been trying my luck lately to get a shot or two and by the time I get even close, they're gone! Well, or its raining too hard. :/
