well sweeping is my favourite technique on the guitar. And I practise it at least one hour a day. But the most important thing is to practise it at a very very slow speed. Once your hands are working absolutely synchronised you can do every crazy constelation of arpeggios.

it's a tough technique, for sure. I practice in on occasion, with less than stellar results. Tried the same thing you mentioned...slow, with a metronome....but I just lose patience, TBH. I've never been good at setting any real practice regimen. I just kinda make it all up as I go
