In the follow up to my last image of Boothill waking up from the nightmare he had about Skull Duggery, breaking out into a cold sweat, it takes no more than five minutes for him to realize that he was in his bed the whole time instead of being back inside Skull Mountain where he really thought that he was being chased and hunted down by the undead miner, strangled by his bony hands, and then about to be eaten alive. He breathes heavily for some time before he starts to feel his neck, rubbing around it just to be certain that he was really just having a nightmare and was not being choked by Skull Duggery or anything while he was sleeping. Coincidentally, his throat feels somewhat raw and dry, even a little sore and painful. Maybe it just means he was sleeping all wrong during the nightmare and is just thirsty. That could be it, couldn't it?

Even after watching the scariest of horror movies that I regret watching, the nightmares begin which are the worst to have when it feels real, depending on what it is the film was about. And thanks, even if I'm not that good with fan fiction like other writers, I still can draw it out and explain what happens. You might say this is all inspired by "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and Skull Duggery is very similar to Freddy Krueger who can still find ways to attach part of himself to his victims, even after he chooses to chase them out of his lair instead of killing them.
That's great, with Freddy Krueger style powers in dreams no one can escape and if he could leave some of his evil entity in one of his victims so that if he seems to be defeated then he can rise again from deep within this same unfortunate person. As voldemort does with different objects.
That sounds like another great form of power that Skull Duggery could possess, having any backup plans just in case his first one doesn't work completely. He might also exploit people's worst fears in their nightmares to force them into doing what he demands, silencing them about what's happening as nobody would believe him/her about it, and would only get themselves thrown into the looney bin, another form of mind manipulation.
