Mephanlina stinktress polymer clay figure (1st attempt)
Last Christmas, I was given a box of polymer clay the contain sculpting tools and blocks of clay in different colors. This was one of my favorite projects I had on my mind for a while wanting to do, when I have seen videos before of how many people create any polymer figures, it does look like fun work and it Almost like making your own action figure or mini-figure. This year Around last month, using my 2021 mephanlina reference sheet I created as a blueprint to making my first mephie figure using polymer clay.
The result and execution did not turn how I expected it, I know I had worked with modeling clay before back when i used to make clay men or clay figures for my claymations back in my 2006 youtube days or my middle school and high school years. That clay I used back then holds up well. this Small bits of polymer clay was thick, but it has a drawback to where even a small bit of polymer seem to not hold a lot of structure very well when stretched out.
Now keep in mind these are not big blocks of clay and I am making the best use of them and the sculpting tools I had at my disposal, even add more clay to her torso and arms with a similar green it could add weight to her and she will be more stable to stand, I am not sure you can tell the color being more dark green compared to the brighter green clay to the shirt. That could have been better. she also kind of having trouble trying to stand up and recently her tail broke off a few days ago, I tried to make her tall stand out more even after baking but unfortunately, the tail wasn't bendy enough.
Anyways, trial and error, it's the first of many. I might try to make a better mephie polymer figure when I get more decent polymer clay. maybe make a skunk boy or ninjester figure in the future.
