The Fox's Hammer advanced on their target quickly. Veterans all, they could keep up a good speed while still blasting their enemies into submission, but they weren't in range yet. Their foe seemed distracted by the Hellfire Marines' allies, which was good for their mission.
At last, the gunners reported range was good. The squadron commander, riding in the Fox's Mind, told his group to wait a few more seconds so that their first blow would strike with devastatingly accurate effect.
The tank commanders of the Fox's Eyes and the Fox's Fist acknowledged, relegating to their gunners to take careful aim at their target so there would be no mistakes. The mission was too important to fail.
At last, the squadron commander gave the order, and the squadron's powerful Demolisher cannons fired in unison, the trio of heavy shells dealing a crippling blow to their target. The ground shook as if the gods themselves were rolling dice, and when the dust settled, the target was a smoking crater in the ground.
The Fox's Hammer turned their attention to their next target, the enemy infantry that had survived their target's destruction, knowing that without their massive plastic root beer bottle, the enemy could not claim victory.
This is my birthday present for Kuri. I painted up three Space Marine Vindicators in his foxly colors. He won't be receiving the models, since I don't have his address and don't want it, but it's the thought that counts.
It's not his birthday yet, of course: That comes on July 8th.
At the top left is Fox's Mind, the squadron command tank, readily identifiable by additional bits of red, including cupola ring and side armor, the additional communications equipment, more silvery insignia, and the portrait of Kuri, borrowed from Purity with permission, printed out and glued to the side armor.
On the left is the Fox's Eyes, so named because of the painted-on rendition of Kuri's eyes and muzzle on its siege shield.
On the right is the Fox's Fist, the third Vindicator in the squadron.
Together they are The Fox's Hammer.
I intend to field them either individually, or as a Spearhead, or as a Linebreaker Squadron should I ever play a game of Apocalypse.
