I can imagine this visually, with the three layers of translation cycling across the screen as closed captions. The visors would be mirrored so you wouldn't see the astronauts' faces until revealed by the radio talk near the end.

As I said in a previous piece, as a 'getting older and getting crankier' GenXer, "Protocol" sounds a bit too much like "Proctologist" for my taste; and the fact is that I'm generally not too happy to see either one of them. :P
