Jaguar reference montage

Leopards and jaguars are fairly hard to tell apart. Jaguars generally have a bulkier build, but the real tell is that jaguars have "rosettes". While leopard spots are also often arranged in rings, jaguar spots have a larger hollow area in the middle that often has one or more smaller spots in it.

As usual, I make these so I can print them out and carry them to cons, or just have them around as needed. It's inconvenient to have to look at an image on my phone or Ipad while drawing.

When I went to the big cat sanctuary near me in the high desert I challenged myself to tell the leopards from the jaguars without looking at the plaques. It's not easy. Even knowing about the rosettes doesn't guarantee identification.
