Introducing my newest character, Raijin! Another Zorgoia, this time a taur! I've had this idea bouncing around in my head for a very long time, and was delighted to finally get to have an artist put it to pen.
Explaining Raijin requires explaining a bit of my worldbuilding. On Vel's homeworld of Vakkert Sedd, home of gods and pantheons, there exists a concept known as Succession, or alternatively Inheritance, which is the process of adopting a new god into a pantheon if an old god decides to step down to remain with their mortal followers and surrender their immortal lifespan in the process. In these situations, the planet itself draws creatures who fits the behavior or powers of the retired god and bring them near their pantheons. In most cases, if the successor consents to taking on the role, they will also take on their name as well as their position, like the name of the god is also the name of the god's seat of office.
So it was for Raijin, who, despite being a female Zorgoia when her predecessor was unambiguously a male Oni (Succession ignores things like species and gender in these matters), was chosen to replace the former god of Lightning when the demon-faced god chose to remain on Earth and die a mortal death with those loyal to him. Like her seat describes, Raijin is accompanied by a ring of Taiko drums that whenever she plays causes rancorous lightning storms as far as the drums carry, and in general beckons lightning magic so potent it could reduce targets to piles of ash on the wind. This destruction of course serves a purpose by clearing out underbrush with fires before the following rainstorms from her drumming extinguish it, making room for life to flourish again.
She didn't miss the chance to notice the relative lack of loud music on Vakkert Sedd, which besides pockets of advanced technology is somewhat Luddite and technophobic, so on her arrival from her own mid-tech homeworld wasted no time in forming up a band of Yokai who specializes in loud, rock-like musical styles that has both enthralled and horrified both mortal and god alike in the relatively tranquil far east of the Dragon's homeworld, with fans both mortal and demonic coming to enjoy their concerts in peace (or the closest thing one can get at a rock concert). Her band is named "The Four Fiends" and besides her consists of a Kitsune, a Raven Tengu, and a Tanuki.
Personality-wise, also like her predecessor, Raijin has a very boisterous and loud personality. Something of a brute and a bully, Raijin tends to throw wild parties and invite herself to other's whenever she catches wind of them, turning into a party demon that's very likely to eat every bit of food that hasn't been claimed and drink every drop of alcohol in sight, and generally descend into debauchery that might result in the party-goers experiencing the "Zorgoia special". She loves to throw her weight around and dance to the literal beat of her own drum, with potentially incendiary consequences, which makes her both revered as a true Successor, but also viewed as something of a nuisance and as a cause for concern of the damage she might cause.
I'm so thrilled to share this character with all of you, you should expect to see more of her soon!
Raijin the Storm Zorgoia belongs to me!

Very neat looking lass. Wouldn't mind attending a party of hers, at least once.
Got a question though: Does she have to physically bring the Taiko drums with her or do they just appear when she deigns to play or something? Also... does she use those pudgy bellies, if not after stuffing them more, for such playing should she lack the Taiko, and to the same or different effect?

For the most part she always keeps them with her! If she doesn't, she can summon them whenever, but I can see her using her stomach as a kick drum to the same effect if she really wants to.
There's a complete, HUGE reference sheet for her in the works, but I wanted to go ahead and have her debut, so you'll get to see how that looks then.
