How'd you come across owning a hummingbird? :)

I don't own it. It was in my garage hanging on for its dear life from my dog. It was low on sugar and week, so while I was waiting for the ice to cool down the hot sugar water (hot water helps melt sugar) I decided to snap some pics of it. I could never keep such a beautiful creature in Captivity. But this experience did allow me to get my mom a hummingbird feeder now that we know all our flowers may not be what one little hummingbird wants.

We had a similar story in my house. Last year, a little Hummingbird caught confused and caught up in the skylight on our porch. It kept flapping against it until it had to lad up there and rest. It was so exhausted that we had to help it down and nurse it back to health for thirty minutes or so in a padded, spare bird cage. We were able to release the little guy shortly afterwards.

But, yes! they are quite beautiful. <3

Yeah I am too. And I was very Careful with him, and he stayed right in my hand. I've helped birds before so I wasn't to worried ^^
