I was musing on how to design digitigrade (as opposed to planograde) footwear for fursuits or for fun. I came up with this basic design based around a pair of de-heeled high-heeled shoes. It involves attaching fiberglass or lightweight springy metal springs to the back of the shoe, with a similarly constructed support reaching up the back of the calf. The entire foot assembly could then be covered by whatever was wished, or left open, depending on the application.
