The land had certainly seen better days, the trees withered up into blackened husks and dirt cracked with no vegetation growing among the barren fields. What had been the mountains were also devoid of life save for birds that were migrating to better lands.
That would change as a green light was starting to make itself known. It started off as a simple column of light, whatever part of the ground it touched slowly filling with color and life, grass and plants growing from where it was focused at. Then the column started to widen, slowly yet surely spreading out to cover more land, just as easily causing life to return in droves. While no creatures that perished here could be brought back to life, the foliage that did easily hid their remains or even repurposed them entirely. More and more of the browned region would start to flourish with color, the sky itself slowly gaining color as well past the enigmatic, life-giving light, which itself continued to move across the land. However, the spread of it would halt, unable to spread out any further yet still covered a sizable portion of the wasteland. That didn't stop it though as the cone of light would start to move, renewing the revival process of the land, entire swaths of the land blooming with life once more, much like it had years ago.
Though it was certainly not something of a truly natural occurrence, far above being a figure of such a size that even when sitting down, the peaks of the mountains surrounding them would barely reach up past half the height of the knees themselves. Her hand kept steady above the wasteland, the light coming from her hand reviving the land below wherever it swept. Even if some birds were in the way or were brave enough to fly past, the digits of the hand would simply curl ever so slightly as to avoid crashing into them, unfolding afterwards like as though nothing had happened. This was a process that she was learning to do, her mentor - while far smaller at the moment - resting on one of the collar-like frills and watching with interest, to monitor the progress of their protégé.

Edit: Added in a short story now.
Didn't really expect a pic of Midora, let alone one from Stampy at that, even if it is a rough colored pic, so thanks to both them and ac2 for this. :D
