Long ago, there was a particulary lazy boy...
He never helped his familly or did any of his chores, driving his mom mad....
One day, to avoid being scolded again, The Boy took a nap near the road, watching cows grazing in the field...
He then wondered at loud how nice life would be if he was a cow....
Suddenly an Old man passing by heard him...
He came to the Boy, saying that he could make his wish come true...
all he had to do was to wear a weird wooden mask than the Old Man gave him...
The Boy didnt thought twice before putting the mask on and suddenly, he was transformed into a Cow!
He tried to say something but only mooing came out of his mouth....
Then, out of nowhere, The Old Man put a leash on the Boy turned Bovine and took him to the nearest village...
The Boy tried to protest all the way but only mooing came out of his mouth...
The Old man took him to the market place and sold the Boy to a farmer who needed help to work his field!!
The Old man claimed that "His cow" was especially strong so he shouldn't hesitate to make him work especially hard... BUT no matter what, he should never gave him Turnips to eat, otherwise the poor animal would die.....
The Poor Boy was forced to work all day long, all summer, working on the field of the farmer as a beast of burden....
He was tired... famished.... He was in despair...
The Poor Boy had lost all hope...
One Night, He manage to get out of the barn but even the, he was too exhausted to wonder far from the farm.... only reaching the Vegetable garden.... surrended by Turnips....
The Boy was so misarable that he felt like he would rather die then continue like this.... so he ate the forbidden vegetables...
BUT instead of dying, the Turnips actually changed him back to a Boy!
He was overjoyed to be himself again after so long!
He found his way back to his familly soon after, swearing to never be lazy ever again.....

Here my quite delayed contribution to the Lunar Calendar New Year event for the Year of the Ox/ Cow....
Last year, for the Year of the Rat, I made a quite dark story... and the Year that followed was quite bad....

... So to start up 2021 in a better mood, I got the idea to adapt a way more light hearted story.... a Kid Story from Korea...
I thank's my Younger Brother's wife for the inspiration since she's the one who told me first the story....
as I understood, this story is quite poppular in there, even being featured in many children books and there is video adaptation online, one of wich is a schoolplay retelling the story....
This one picture took WAY longer than planned... so much that I missed the exact date.... sorry
