TwitterWhen animals considered to be "prey" by the apex predators of the world begin to band together for safety, where does it leave those caught in between?
Namely, a pair of pine martens, carnivores and flesh-eaters themselves, but small enough to be considered food for the bears, wolves and gluttons of the forest and field. They're on a journey to seek sanctuary with the rabbits, squirrels and other prey that have gathered to Oren--but they don't know if welcome or condemnation will meet them.

I hate that I was right and that it was Sprig. I hope Rask is able to pull Yarrow off of him in time before he ends Sprig.
I am also concerned with what Sprig heard, how much of the conversation he heard, and is this traumatic moment going to warp his thought process and view Rask a s a potential traitor.

There is just no way this can end well. Either we'll find out next page that Rask had to kill his dad or Sprig has had it and Rask will be persona non grata with the sanctuary. If the others show up and the martens are fighting they will likely stab first and ask questions later.
nobody, I mean NOBODY can react to a sudden action such as this... the shock factor freezes even the most stern of people lol... its not that hes being useless its that hes being normal... he had no way of knowing who was even up there and didnt even detect it till MUCH after his father did (his father is clearly a higher level much higher...)
2 options what happens in next panels of which one is more possible than the other at least in my opinion.
Yarrow mauling Sprigg due to the 4th panel would be the logical option where Hemlock arives to the gruesome scene, but Yarrow is missing an item in this page and that means that option 2 is the likelier outcome here.
Hemlock will find Rask over Yarrow with the spearhead plunged into his back.
Rask after all wanted to save Sprigg from finding the culprit cause he already knew it was a Martren from the tracks. Unfortunate that Sprigg followed him (or perhaps he was really fast and circed unfortunately right to the correct place), but in that situation Rask would save his one true new friend. And that is Sprigg at this point, cause he did not even confide into Egg about his doubts, but in the squirrel.

I like how you show the quick motion on the panels. I really feel for Rask, he didn't have time to react. Of course, now this will lead now to the inevitable confrontation. Hemlocks determined and desire to fight is evident, while the other rabbit is hesitant. The suspense is killing me. I'm hoping Rask can save the situation yet. You really have me on the edge of my seat here Blackteagen, your comic is incredible.😃⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🙌👍
