I've been wondering for a while now if Firescales is a condition that could be... controlled, with training.

Actually it's funny that you mention that! In the RP group that this character lives in, he trained to control his firescales more by heating them up to try to repel spears and weapons more easily while fighting, and to "cool" down by relaxing and calming himself so that the scales are (still hot, burn at the touch) but aren't at such a crazy hot level that everything instantly bursts into flame around him.

(To clarify I am not the character's owner, this is just an RP I spectated, I just curate the RP group)
