"When the darkness fills your dreams...Find His place, let the smell of charred soil and warm ashes guide you. The Guardian will be there.
He will not fight.
But He will give you the sword to stand against your fears and fight the shadows of your nightmares."
This is for Federschein who I promised a picture with a firey lion. And here it is finally!
I finally got to finish this image who was lying in my hard disk for a long time...I hope you like it.

very nice piece of work.
This looks quite daunting with those jagged uneven peaks behind him and the way the sword is just sitting there standing with ribbons billowing in a breeze is quite a sight. I can think of many story scenarios that could feature a scene like this within them.
Nice to see more work by you

well of course some of the story ideas fit in with that main story that I explained to you about in that note a while back.
One of the other ideas I had would be that this land is the scene of a planet-changing action. Maybe an explosion or some event so powerful that it fractured the land itself, jutting out places nearby and embedding the sword in the ground. The lion survived through sheer luck and has found the shining sword as a nice respite from to burnt lands around it.
Another possible idea is that the sword and the lion once belonged to someone well respected who perished years before and the sword marks the grave. Years later, the lion is now an adult and the scenery has changed a bit but the sword still stands as testament to that great warrior.
