Another playable race from my setting, which these Patreon Rewards are helping Populate!
This time: the Whale Cetaceans
Why would anybody want to play a whale? Welll i don't know you guys but when i was a kid... we had this cartoon series about a flying whale that could fly, shoot lasers and fight wars ( ムーの白鯨 Mū no Hakugei ) which in italian was translated as "Moby Dick 5" because "word salad and a white whale" + "it's for kids, who cares".

I am "kind of" wary of watching cartoons from my childhood.
Mostly because 90% of the times they suck the other 10% they suck even worse than i was prepared for.
But when choosing the races that had to go in my setting i could not avoid to re-think of that.
And just had to put playable whales.

I... remember a show with that name... but for the life of me i can't remember what it was about.But then again i remember about really silly shows like a show with a teen that could transform into a car.
Or a show with dinosaurs where the chief of the evil guys would always go "I laugh! I laugh in an evil way!" (paraphrasing from italian: "Rido! Rido Cattivo!" was much shorter how i heard it)
There were a ton of shows where i either remember only the title or i only remember some element of what was going on.
Most of them were... most probably forgotten since they did not strike me in a good way.
Others i can never forget even if i want to. Like Space ghost will always be in my memories for those filmed mouths on drawn faces.
Mighty Orbots was many Westerners' first introduction to Anime. They were a team of robots that could act independently or they could combine into one large robot. The torso was a fat robot with a big jaw who was constantly eating; he could eat anything made of metal. There was a spunky little girl robot that was ... maybe the head? And a skinny C3P0 looking guy who was sort of an early 80s gay stereotype; very prissy and overly dramatic. But the highlight for me were the twins, the two legs of the big robot. They were sexy female droids and I had my very first cartoon crush on them.
The kid turning into a car was called "Turbo Teen" here in the US.
The dinosaur bit doesn't sound familiar.
Cartoon shows with live-action mouths keyed in ... I never watched Space Ghost but I have seen quite a few episodes of Clutch Cargo even though it was off the air well before my time.

I believe the show with the dinosaurs was called "dinosaucers" or something.
It was not just space ghost, also some super man cartoons and similar things. They were all awful. Scrappy animation where you could tell it was something like a background on rollers under static or moving heads tor "walking" and those horrible lips...
