Well, you have to see it from his perspective. He basically has the extremely hard job of keeping his brother in one piece, who's constantly on the border of depression due to the the conservative thinking of your town. Because of this, he'll obviously talk about Steve a lot, he's his brother and he's basically taking care of him, so he wants to kinda relieve the stress of keeping his bro together somehow, so he talks about Steve a lot.
