It was Thursday, January the 28th of 2021. Sixteen contestants, who do not have a single clue why they are here, are stuck inside one room with little space. The walls and floor were made out of hard concrete and the ceiling as a fiberglass acoustical board. There were no doors or windows that they could escape out of. These players were woken up with no memory of how they got here.
Shawn’s POV:
This just looked like an escape room I’ve been in so many times. The problem was that it never included anyone else since I usually do these alone. “Do you know what’s going on?” I asked the black panther and the platypus who were wearing the same hats as me. I knew them from my job at the OWCA Percy the Black Panther and Perry the Platypus. The two were as confused as I am, never knowing that we could have met at the same fate.
“I’m not sure. Do you think it’s those evil scientists again?” Perry asks. All three of us could talk by an electronic voice speaker from our collars. It was better than making animal sounds to communicate in public. “Because if it’s them, I’ll beat all of them down.”
“Are you kidding? I thought this was one of Cameron’s stupid pranks. I swear I’ll eat that boy.” He growled while some of the others were looking at him strangely and worried. “I wish he was well behaved like your boy, Thomas.”
“Yeah, he’s probably worried about where I’m at right now.” I look at the floor with my tail and ears drooped down. “But if we want to get out of here, then we should work together.”
“I agree, even if we have no idea who these other people are.” Perry says, staring at the others who were talking to each other and feeling the walls as if there was some sort of secret passage they could all escape.
Soda’s POV:
Ima be honest with ya, I was really scared, being in a room with fifteen other people who I never knew in my life. I was just sleeping one night and I ended up here in this strange room that we could be trapped in for life. Of course I was bothered by this rabbit who looks at me strangely. “What are you?” This white rabbit asks.
“My name is Soda, I’m a gloop.” I tell him while crossing my liquidy arms trying to keep my cool. The rabbit really was daring since he decided to poke his finger at my belly which went through like slime. I was embarrassed the moment before he took his finger out. “Do you mind?”
“Sorry, I just find it amazing to see you like this. Meeting someone who’s all liquidy and named Soda.” He smiles at me, one that really tells me that this guy hasn’t been out in a few months. “What would happen if I put my whole body in you?” Ok, this guy is literally out of his mind. Does he think that he can go inside my belly without permission? Usually when I do that, it’s because I’m hungry and my mouth is all full of food.
“How about no, we still need to figure out what we are doing here.” I tell him before going to the wall and trying to find a secret exit out of this crazy place. On my left was a giant fox-like creature with white and black fur and a red color with a question mark talking to a brown balloon mouse. If this room had the power to shrink, I was going to lose it and actually put everyone in my stomach.
As I slowly walked backwards against the wall, still looking for a way out, I bumped into a somewhat tall eagle, "O-Oh, Sorry about that!" I said thinking if I get on this guy's bad side, I might lose a limb, "Ah, No worries mate! We all bump into someone every now and then, matter of fact, I've bumped into that guy around 3 times now, Let's just say. . . He's kinda scary, to be honest. . ." The Eagle said Pointing at Shawn, "Oh, Where are is my respect? I'm Larry! And who are you?" Larry said, pulling his hand out, "I'm Theo, but I go by Soda Pop back at home." "Well, Nice to meet ya, soda!" And Before I knew what's happening, I guess I had a pal now. . .
Arthur’s POV:
I very much hated it here. Being trapped in a room full of people who I didn’t know was going to make me mad. Even worse was that there was this grey cat who’s been staring at me for the past ten minutes. I really hate cats, they can be such annoying animals. I usually growl and bark at them while they hiss at me. But if they hiss first, I’m punching them in the face. Anyway, this cat was just glaring at me as if hated dogs, which he might. As a response, I growl at him as a warning, try to make sure he gets the message. Of course he turns away and walks off. “He’s just a cat you know.” A voice said next to me. I turned around to see this huge black furred wolf who was pretty fat, maybe the fattest in the room.
“I know, I hate cats.” I respond to him, crossing my arms with an angry expression. “At least you're a wolf. I can accept that.”
“A big one.” He squeezes his belly as it was right in front of my face. “I’ve been eating in buffets ever since I was a little pup. Now look at me, I’m big as a house.” He chuckles while patting his rounded gut. “I do hope this isn’t some sort of exercise, I hate exercising.” He gives a short huff before wrapping an arm around me, as if I wanted to be that close to him and his thick and fat body. “If you like to, I’ll sit on that cat. My butt is great for that kind of thing.” He jokes while shaking his big booty which very much made me uncomfortable to look at.
“Thank you for the talk, but I should really go.” I get his arm off of my shoulder.
“To where? We can’t go anywhere.” I knew that from the start, but more like trying to get away from him before his fat body starts to bother me. “I think you are just jealous that I have a bigger body than you.”
“I’m sorry?” I had no idea what he was rambling about, but my guess was that he was just as dumb than he looks.
“I mean, you want to have a bigger belly than I do.” Again, he pats it. “But of course, your clothes will be destroyed if you do gain weight.” I immediately stepped away from this fat wolf and moved on without saying a word.
All of a sudden, the room started to shake like some sort of an earthquake. Everyone felt curious and scared about what was going on. After it stopped, the whole room went silent before one of us, a purple dragon disappeared from our own eyes. Then came the cat that I hated, the giant fox, the gloop, that fat wolf and so on until I was the last person left in the room. Once I was teleported, it was a weird feeling to have like static. Never in my life have I felt that numb before when something strange is happening to me. So I closed my eyes and opened them up to find out that I was in some strange place, now on top of a circular platform. Around me was everyone who I saw in the room, standing on the same platform as me. “Welcome to The Inflation Games everyone.” A voice from a speaker on a pole said. At that point, I knew this was going to be a disaster.
