One peek through the smallest hole in the boarded up window Boothill might have accidentally overlooked when boarding the doors and windows, at first seeing nothing for several seconds. But then out of the blue, here comes this evil, sinister looking eye that somehow knows who you are and that you're inside. Whether Boothill really does see Skull Duggery out there attempting to come up with a new plan to drive his victims to lose their minds while they sleep before feeding on their fear, or maybe the fear and trauma from the ghostly encounter and from almost getting killed in the worst way is causing him to see or hear things that are not really there. But whichever it is, the eye is enough to terrify Boothill badly that he runs far away from the window and gets back in bed, hiding under the covers, closing his eyes and telling himself that he is still having bad dreams.
