Hiro: Max's father, Japanese. He is one of the greatest zoologists in WWF. He is a strict but caring father to Max who helped to homeschool him during his time in the Congo.

Sarah: Max's mother, American. She is a skilled vet and wildlife explorer. She deeply loves her son and homeschooled him during Max's childhood in the Congo.

Hamato and Shen Li: Max's grandparents and Hiro's parents, both Japanese. They are caring to their grandson and want what's best for him. When Max reveals his powers to him, they were surprised and proud that Max will use his gift to protect humanity and nature.

Uncle Joe: Max's uncle, An American. He is Jim's brother. He is a jovial and caring man to his nephew. He is a successful zoologist and is friends with the famous Kratt brothers. When he learns of Max's powers, he becomes one of Max's strongest supporters.

Misoto: Max's granduncle, Japanese. He owns a small noodle and tea shop downtown. He can be quite eccentric at times but cares for his family and honors the traditions of his ancestors. It is revealed that he knows the legend of the Wild Master and becomes a source of advice to Max when he reveals his powers, knowing that he has a pure heart to receive this power.
