Furry characters have been around since the earliest days of artwork, a good 35,000 to 50,000 years ago in cave paintings and carved bone sculptures. They've been popular in artwork and literature for millennia. And the earliest cartoon I've ever seen, from 1919, had cartoon animal characters. The furry fandom is as old as humanity itself!
I bought this very CD when I was 10! I think it was my first introduction to classical music, Carnaval des Animaux and Danse Macabre absolutely blew me away.
Now that I look back on it it seems rather fitting!
Let's claim Saint Seans as a furry icon, why not?

I knew he was a prodigy, but I didn't know about those facts! I read the other day that he supposedly had all of Beethoven's piano sonatas memorized when he was 12 (like, how?)
And apparently his drag performances at parties were legendary!
Shame he turned into a musical conservative towards the end of his life though.
