If you’re not a dog breed aficionado, you’ve likely never heard of the Norsk Elgehund, or Norwegian Elkhound. They’re a beautiful, thick-furred Spitz breed that is very loyal to their families. And we just welcomed a young Elkie into our lives after being without a family dog for the last year. Their coats are buff-and-silver or grey-and-dark silver; ours is the lighter buff tone which I like better. If you’d like to see puppy photos, they’re on my Instagram or Twitter. It’s been crazy here, being snowed in with a rambunctious puppy and a 7 month baby, but it’s a fun sort of chaos.
