Chapter 56: Battle in the Science Fair!!
Max hoped he and his team could have a quick and exciting night at the Science fair. Now that they have given their presentation, he wished for the rest of the night to be quick and peaceful. Truth be told, this was his first science fair ever since he moved to Boston.
He never would have imagined that his first science fair would have killer androids attacking and destroying as part of the event. The entire gym was in total chaos. People were running helter-skelter as the androids fired more cannons at the presentations and innocent people. Tables, benches and presentations bits were scattered all across the gym.
Many tried to escape but more androids seemed to be popping out of nowhere. Max and his friends managed to hide behind an overturned table and could only watch in horror as the destruction continued. “Can’t we catch a break today?!” Jenny exclaimed over the noise. “It’s just one disaster after another!!”
“I don’t understand!” Mikey spoke up. “Why was Shun thinking, bringing a bunch of killer androids to the school?!” “Come on, Mikey!” Jake replied. “Shun couldn’t have known they are Hannibal’s killer robots!”
“If that’s the case...” Max asked “Why would Mc.Hannibal give his robots to Shun?” Everyone looked at one another briefly. “Come to think of it,” he added. “Do you really think the student council could build such advanced machinery?”
“Max, what are you saying?” Jake asked. “You don’t think...” “Look guys, think about it.” Max replied. “How could Shun build such advanced technology?” “Now that you mention it,” David added. “How did Shun get his hands on Mc.Hannibal’s robots?”
“No way!” Jenny exclaimed. “Are you saying Shun cheated?!” “I knew it!” Mikey cursed. “I should have known that stuck-up jerk couldn’t have made those robots too perfectly!” “Well,” Jenny added. “we’ve got to do something before they blow the whole gym sky high!”
“Mikey,” Max asked. “did you bring their weapons?” “Yes!” Mikey replied. “There’re in my knapsack!” “But there’re with the other bags on the bleachers!” he added. “Okay!” Max decided “You and Jake get our weapons.” “The rest of us will get everyone to safety.”
“Alright!” Jake replied. “Just be careful.” As Mikey and Jake managed to sneak off, Max gestured to Jenny and David. “It’s best we split up to cover more ground.” “I’ll head off to the main entrance.” David explained. “Fine, then I’ll head to the side entrances.” Jenny added.
“Until Mikey gets our weapons,” Max continues. “we can’t engage the robots.” “What’s more important is getting everyone to safety.” “Got it!” Jenny and David exclaimed. “Okay!” David added. “On the count of three, we break!”
“1,2,3... Break!!” With that, the three friends split up to search for any survivors.
(Max P.O.V)
“Come on!” Max exclaimed, as he lifted up a table and ushered some students to safety. “Head to the exits!” “Thanks, dude!” A male student exclaimed as he and his friends hurried off. “HALT!!” A voice called out. Max stiffened and turned around to see a Securi-tron aiming a cannon arm around him.
“Max Yamato identifed!” the android exclaimed. “Surrender to Lord Hannibal or face annilation!” “I have a better idea!” Max replied, before seemingly disappeared for a split second. The android looked around but was unable to find him.
“Up here!!” The android only had seconds to look up before Max smashed his glowing fist on its face, breaking the screen and causing it to collapse. As Max pulled his fist out of the sparking pile of metal, he looked around at the chaos and heard screams all around him. “Just how far will Mc.Hannibal go to get rid of me?” He thought bitterly to himself, clenching his fists tightly.
He shook his head; now was not the time for that. Right now, there were people in danger. With that, he took off in a hurry.
(Jenny’s P.O.V)
“Hurry!” Jenny called out as she ushered parents and their children to safety. “This way!” “Thank you,” a mother replied, clutching to her whimpering little girl. “what about you?” “Don’t worry about me, madam!” Jenny exclaimed. “Just go!”
The woman nodded and hurried of to safety, with her daughter in her arms. Jenny looked at the destruction around her. “I had just about had all I could take.” She thought in anger. “Mc.Hannibal’s gone and crossed the line!” Her hold on her bo staff tightened.
“Jenny!” The girl turned to see David running towards her. “I’ve came to see if you need help!” “I’m fine!” Jenny replied. “What about you?” “Don’t worry about it.” David grinned. “I rescued some visitors trapped near the beachers and got most others out safely.”
“HALT!!” The two friends turned to see a Securi-tron aiming a cannon arm at him. “Allies of Max Yamato identified, surrender or be destroyed!” “Oh nuts!” David cursed, grabbing Jenny’s wrist and turned to run. Unfortunately, another Securi-tron stood in their path.
“You do not stand a chance.” the second android replied. “I repeat; Surrender or be destroyed.” Jenny and David cringed, the two Securi-trons were watching their every move. “Any last words before we destroy you, friends of Max Yamato?” The two androids spoke in unison.
“How about, heads up?!” A boomerang sliced through the air and cut of the androids’ heads. “Mikey!” Jenny cried out with joy. “Jake!” The two boys arrived, bringing their weapons. “You guys alright?” Mikey replied. “We managed to get our weapons before any of those Securi-trons could destroy them.”
“We’re fine.” David replied, taking the gauntlets. “We managed to get most of the visitors out safely.” “Where did you get the boomerang, though?” Mikey grinned. “It’s my own weapon!” “I built it myself to help you guys fight!”
“Where’s Max?” Jake asked. “He’s still saving anyone still trapped.” Jenny replied. worriedly. “We have to help him.” “Don’t worry, Jenny.” Daniel assured her. “Max can handle them.” “We still have a lot of visitors to rescue.”
“I’ll find and help Max.” Mikey told them. “The rest of you spread out again and find any more still trapped.” “Got it!” the others exclaimed. With that, the team raced off in different directions.
(Max P.O.V)
“Maybe I didn’t think this through.” Max muttered to himself. Five Securi-trons have surrounded him and they had their cannon arms aimed at him. In addition, they had missiles on their shoulders and ribs. “There is no escape, Max Yamato” the androids spoke in unison. “This is your last chance to surrender.”
Max just glared defiantly. “I’ll won’t bow down to anyone,” he declared. “especially to Mc.Hannibal!!” “Wrong answer.” the androids replied, their cannon arms glowing. SWASH!!!! A boomerang flew through the air and sliced of all five of the androids’ heads.
Max blinked as the boomerang flew around and landed in someone’s hands. “Mikey!” he exclaimed as the said boy ran to him. “Am I glad you’re here!” “Don’t worry, bud!” Mikey exclaimed, grinning. “I’ve got your back!”
More Securi-trons flew towards them. Max and Mikey braced for attack. “You ready?” Mikey asked. “Ready as I’ll ever be.” Max replied, his eyes glowing a feral gold. The two friends readied to fight as the androids drew nearer.
Suddenly, the androids stopped and to the boys’ surprise, all of the androids in the gym started to fly off. “What was that about?” asked Mikey. “I’m not sure.” Max replied, uncertainly. “Guys!” The rest of Team W.I.L.D arrived.
“All of the Securi-trons are retreating!” Jake exclaimed. “You think it’s over?” Jenny asked. “I hope so.” David added. “I mean, it’s not like something else is going to pop up from all this.” Max seemed to be listening quietly for something.
“I’m afraid you could be wrong about that, David.” Max softly said. His friends looked at him. “What do you mean, Max?” Jenny asked, cautiously. “Do you not hear that?” The friends listened carefully as well. Were they hearing things or was the ground shaking?
“What’s that??” Mikey asked, nervously. The ground rumbled louder and the whole gym started to tremble. “What’s going on?!” Jake exclaimed. “I don’t know!” Jenny screamed. RRRRRROOOOOAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!! A loud roar sounded in the area.
An uneasy silence followed. “What the heck was that?” David asked. CRASH!!!! Something large smashed through the wall of the gym, causing dust and debris to fly. Team W.I.L.D coughed and waved the dust away. When the dust settled, the team looked in shock at the sight.
Standing before them was a large monstrous robotic creature. It was huge with glowing quills on its back and a long tail with a stinger at the end like a scorpion. Its large metal paws had sharp metal claws that gleamed wickedly. Worst of all, it had three heads; the first was a tiger, the second a wolf and the third was a hyena. All heads had glowing eyes and sharp metal fangs in their mouths.
WWWWWRRRRRROOOOOOOUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! The three headed monster roared at Team W.I.L.D who stood and stared at it in horror. “Well, David,” Mikey spoke up. “you just had to open your big mouth, didn’t you?”
