Dandy and her mentor. One of the first lessons is having to learn where you have power over other forces. The first lesson was recognizing the unseen powers of the world. The second lesson was that blood and matter have power over the world. Using bones, blood, and the organs of a recently dead creature to tell portents is a pretty basic lesson. One that unnerves Dandy quite a bit.
