Chapter 64: Max’s First Date Part 1
Two days have passed since the campout, Max was in his treehouse, staring into the forest. Normally, he would be reading in his library or tending to the animals in his clinic. But today, his mind was thinking about the event last week.
(Flashback...)
Everyone was back at the treehouse, staring up at the starry sky from the lobby. “It’s so beautiful.” Jenny whispered, looking up with wide eyes. “You don’t see that in the city.” Dennis added, breathlessly.
“Max,” Bean spoke up. “thanks for inviting us to campout.” “You’re welcome.” Max replied. “I’m just glad I was to experience this with you guys.” “It’s a shame this is our last night.” David added. “I would have enjoyed fishing a little longer.”
“Well, we still got a few months to go.” Mikey pointed out. “What else can we do?” “We could go to the arcade.” Bruce suggested. “What about the park again?” Jenny asked. “I don’t know.” Max replied. “What about you, Sophie?”
He stopped when he saw the girl; her head was lowered and her hands were wringing together. “Sophie,” he asked. “you okay?” “Maxie...” Sophie spoke, her voice soft. “I’m been meaning to ask you.”
Everyone stared at her, confused. “Sophie,” Max asked again. “what’s wrong?” Sophie lifted her head and looked at Max, straight in the eyes. “Max Yamato!” she exclaimed. “Please go on a date with me tomorrow!”

“EEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!”
(Flashback end)
Max sighed; no girl had ever asked him out before on a date. After that, Jenny got into an uproar and he had to hold her back from trying to claw Sophie’s eyes out. To his own astonishment, Max agreed to go with Sophie.
He rubbed his head and blushed in embarrassment; he didn’t know the first thing about going on a date. What was he supposed to wear or act in a date? What kind of gift should he give to Sophie?
Nevertheless, he made a promise to Sophie and he was going to keep it. In fact, it was almost time for his date. Instantly, he turned into a raven and flew back home to get ready.
(2 hours later...)
Max found himself outside the mall, dressed in a green T-shirt and brown pocketed pants. He wore a slim hooded, grey sweater and sandals on his feet. “Where is she?” he thought. “She said she would be here at one o’clock.”
“Maxie!!” A voice called, causing Max to turn at the source. To his amazement, he saw Sophie, dressed in a lovely pink dress, with her blond hair tied in pigtails while holding a blue handbag and wearing pink sneakers. “I’m glad you’re here!”
“So, what do you think?” she asked, grinning mischievously as she twirled around. “Do you like my outfit?” “Yeah...” Max replied, a little dumbstruck. “It suits you perfectly.” Sophie smiled widely and wrapped her arms around Max’s left arm. “Shall we get going, darling~~” she added, sweetly.
Max blushed brightly at the nickname. “S-s-sure.” he replied, before Sophie pulled his arm and together, they headed towards the mall.
