Chapter 65: Max’s First Date: Part 2
The mall was bustling with activity as usual, visitors were pouring into the shops and stores. Max and Sophie were now at the center complex, staring up at the numerous floors. “So, Maxie?” she asked, clutching onto his arm. “Where do you want to go first?”
Max smiled. “Actually, I was wondering where would you like to go?” he replied. Sophie’s eyes sparkled with joy. “Really?!” she asked in excitement. “Oh, thank you!” “There’s so much I want to show you!” she added.
With that, Sophie grabbed Max’s arm and before he knew it, Max was being dragged to off. Little did the two know, they were being watched by three familiar figures. Jenny, David and Mikey were hiding behind a concrete pillar, all wearing disguises.
“Uhh, remind me.” Mikey asked. “Why are we spying on Max and Sophie’s date?” “Ask Jenny.” David replied. “She’s been badgering me all about Max’s date with Sophie.” “She’s just being jealous, that’s all.” John sighed. “Seeing her boyfriend going out with another girl.”
“I’m not jealous!” Jenny shot back, her cheeks blushing. “I just want to make sure that Max will be alright!” “You’ll never know if more androids or demons will attack him.” she added. “So, it’s best we make sure that nothing happens.”
“Yeah, right.” David snickered. “You’re just using that as an excuse to...Yeow!!” He yelled as Jenny stomped on his foot. “If you’re done talking, let’s follow them already!” She replied, before trailing after them.
Mikey sighed. “Come on, buddy.” He told David. “We better make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid.” With that, he followed Jenny, with a muttering David who was rubbing on his sore foot.

Max and Sophie were at a lingerie store; the latter eagerly picking out different outfits while the former just watched in amusement. Soon, Sophie was wearing all sorts of clothes, from a golden sundress to a white shirt with a pink heart and skinny blue jeans. She happily showed them off to Max, who simply watched, his cheeks blushing from the show.
Later, the two were at the arcade, enjoying all the different games. Sophie’s favourite was the dancing console and as usual, she was showing off to Max as she twirled and wiggled her hips at him, much to his embarrassment.
After the arcade, the two went to the bookstore. Max helped to pick out a lovely fantasy novel for Sophie but she preferred a romantic novel. To Max’s amusement, it was about a teenage girl who falls in love with a wolf-shapeshifter.
Throughout the entire time, Jenny, Mikey and David followed them and watched their every move. Mikey and David also had to keep an eye on Jenny to make sure she didn’t try to interfere. At times, they even had to hold her back to prevent her from rushing at Sophie.

Max and Sophie were sitting at the fountain at the lobby. They were getting tired from their date so they decided to take a rest. For Sophie, she was clinging onto to Max, like a little girl holding on to her big brother.
Max didn’t try to pull away; he had gotten used to Sophie’s clinginess and liked her warm touch. She had changed a lot since he first met her. “Max,” Sophie spoke, smiling. “this has been the best date I ever had.”
“I’m glad you enjoyed it.” Max replied. “Actually, Max,” Sophie added. “I want to thank you.” “Thank me?” Max asked, confused. “For what?” Sophie looked straight at Max, her blue eyes staring intently into Max’s brown ones. “I never had any real friends before.” She explained. “Being the popular girl in school; I never really made friends with anyone.”
“I was always praised and pampered by the teachers and my parents.” she added, her head lowered slightly. Max remained silent as he listened. “As a result, I was always spoiled, selfish and used to getting my way.” she continued. “It’s something I’m not very proud off.”
“But then, you came along.” she explained, giving a soft smile. “You are the first person to treat me like an ordinary girl.” Her eyes began to water. “You given me the best time I’ve ever had.” “Thanks to you, I finally get to be myself, my real self.”
Max could only listen in stunned silence; this was a side of Sophie he had never seen before. “I’m glad you feel that way, Sophie.” He replied gently, placing a hand on her shoulder. However, Sophie took his hand and placed it against her cheek, much to his surprise and embarrassment.
“Your hands,” she cooed softly. “So strong but gentle and warm.” “Whenever I’m with you, I feel safe.” She added, her blue eyes staring intently into his own. “Don’t ever leave me, Maxie.” She whimpered, her face edging close to his. “Please, don’t leave me.” Max felt his cheeks burn and could feel Sophie’s warm breath as her lips drew closer to his. Strangley, he didn’t pull away as he closed his eyes, waiting for the kiss to come.
“NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!” A loud scream shattered the peaceful scene. Max and Sophie turned and to their shock, they saw a very livid Jenny standing in front of them. “Jenny?!” Max exclaimed. “What are you doing here?!”
“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING TO HIM?!” She screeched, clearly at Sophie. “What’s wrong with you?!” Sophie shot back. “Isn’t it natural for a girl to confess her feelings to the guy she likes?”
With an inhuman scream, Jenny lunged forward and tackled Sophie straight into the fountain. The two girls wrestled, tumbled and splashed through the water. “Girls, stop it!!” Max tried to calm them down, to no avail.
“Max!!” The latter turned to see Mikey and David running towards them. “Guys!?” Max asked. “Why are you two here?!” Mikey blushed in embarrassment as he lowered his head. “Uh, we can explain?” He replied nervously.
