Chapter 66: A New Scheme
“What were you thinking?!” Max exclaimed at Jenny and Sophie, who were on their knees, their heads lowered in shame. “Do you realize what kind of trouble you caused?!” “We’re sorry!” Jenny apologized. “We didn’t mean any harm!”
“No,” Max added in annoyance. “but you caused quite an uproar in the plaza!” The girls cringed at that. After their little scuffle in the fountain, Max had to wade into the fountain and drag them out. Worse of all, many of the shoppers filmed the fight on their phones and uploaded it online; making it viral.
We find the friends back in Max’s treefort, where he is lecturing the two girls. Mikey, David and John nervously watched from the sidelines. “Jenny, I can’t believe you would stoop so low as to spy on me and drag the others into it!” Max added. “You’re supposed to be smarter than this; what am I going to tell your parents about this?!”
“Come on, Max” David spoke up. “Ease up on them; they’re sorry and learned their lesson.” Max turned towards him and the other boys with a neutral expression. Without speaking, he took out his phone out of his pocket and showed them a video.
The boys cringed when they saw it was a video of Jenny and Sophie fighting in the fountain, pulling each other’s hair, scratching and slapping; all the while, screaming names at each other like “B*tch!” or “W*ore!”
He scrolled down to reveal the view count; over 850,000 views and hundreds of comments. “Okay...” David replied, nervously “Maybe, they need further motivation.” Max sighed. “This video is practically on every social media website there is.” He explained. “How am I going to explain this to Jenny and Sophies’ parents?”
“Maxie, we said we’re sorry!” Sophie spoke up. “Either way, Jenny was the one who started it!” Jenny glared back at Sophie. “Shut-it, lady!!” She yelled. “I don’t want hear another word from a slut like you!!”
“What do you call me?!” Sophie screeched enraged. “You heard me; an arrogant, self-righteous slut!!!!” Jenny yelled back. “ENOUGH!!!” Max roared, stomping his foot; causing the two girls to shut up. “You two have already caused enough trouble for today!!”
Max sighed. “You can thank your lucky stars that the manager didn’t charge you for any damages.” He added. “Still, I highly doubt your parents will be pleased if they see the video.” The two girls paled when they saw it. “Maxie, come on!” Sophie pleaded. “If my mom sees this, she’ll ground me to next year!!”
“I’m sorry, but there’s nothing I can do.” Max replied. “I won’t be surprised it this gets on the news.” The two girls paled more and hung their heads. “Well, I doubt anyone will forget this for a long time.” John chuckled.

Mc.Hannibal was pacing up and down in his office, thinking of ways to get rid of Max and his friends. Mr Slick watched his boss pace around like an angry lion. “Um, boss?” he asked. “Is everything alright?”
“No, of course not!!” Mc.Hannibal yelled, causing Slick to flinch from the tone of his voice. “I still haven’t destroyed the Wild Guardian yet!” “Maybe send more Secur-trons after him?” Slick offered.
“That won’t do any good!” Mc.Hannibal replied. “Any android I sent gets destroyed thanks to him and his friends!” He groaned, as he continued to pace back and forth. “Max must have some weak flaw; something to use against him.”
“Well, sir.” Slick spoke up, smiling widely. “Since we’re on the subject on the Wild Guardian, there is something you should see.” “What is it?” Mc.Hannibal asked. Slick took out a remote control and clicked on a button.
A flat-screen tv appeared from a hole in the ceiling and was switched on to reveal a newscast on the air. “Well, it seems like a romance drama is in Boston Mall today,” The announcer explained. “this was the scene earlier this afternoon at 3pm when two girls were seen fighting in the plaza’s fountain.”
A video footage of Jenny and Sophies’ catfight was then shown. “An eyewitness says that the spat started when he saw the girl, Sophie on a date when another girl, Jennifer appeared and seemed to start a quarrel with her.” the newscaster continued. “A shopper took footage of the event and livestreamed it on the Internet.”
“The fight finally ended when Sophie’s date, a 10-year old boy, Max Yamato went into the fountain and literally pulled them out.” The footage then showed Max Yamato wading into the fountain and grabbing both girls by their back of their necks before dragging them out. “Fortunately, the manager has agreed not to press charges as no damage was done.”
“However, the video received over 1,500,000 views, making it one of the most popular on social media.” Mr Slick paused the video and turned back to Mc.Hannibal. “It’s all over the news, sir” he explained. “Perhaps, it can help us destroy him.”
Mc.Hannibal just stood silently, with his hand covering his face. “Mr Slick, I don’t have time for this.” He spoke, his voice low and dangerous. “I’ve got less than a week to get rid of this bozo,” he added, his voice rising by the minute. “or else my plans for eternal life with the Devourer for 17 years goes up in smoke.”
He started to advance towards Mr Slick, who turned pale and began to sweat profusely. “Now, I need to come up with a new plan to get rid of him once and for all,” he continued. “And, you think that some ROMANTIC LOVE TRIANGLE WILL HELP ME WITH THAT!!!!!” he roared that last part so loud that Slick screamed and curled up into a ball as if to protect himself.
“Do you think I care about his love life?!” Mc.Hannibal continued to rant. “I’ll give all my money in the world if I can just...” He stopped in mid-sentence as his eyes widened for a moment, then a cunning smirk spread over his face.
“Wait, what were the names of those two girls again?” He asked. Slick looked up in surprise. “Jenny and Sophie, sir.” He replied, confused. “Why do you ask?” Mc.Hannibal grinned widely and rubbed his hands with glee.
“Because, my dear Mr Slick,” He explained. “I believe I found the perfect plan to destroy Max Yamato.” “And those two girls are the key to his demise.” He added, chuckling evily at the last part.
