Chapter 70: A Plan to save the Girls
Max and the others didn’t know how long they had been running. All they wanted was to get somewhere safe, away from the girls. “You think we lost them?” Mikey asked, worriedly. “I *Huff* don’t *Puff* know.” David replied, panting. “Let’s *Puff* not find *Huff* out.”
Up ahead of them, Cheetah-Max raced on ahead of them, a streak of yellow with black spots. The others tried their best to keep up with him, fortunately, Cheetah-Max was running at a steady pace; allowing them to follow him easily.
Suddenly, Cheetah-Max stopped in his tracks, causing the others to bump into each other. “Ow!” John cried. “What’s the big deal, Max?!” “Don’t worry, guys.” Max assured, as he shifted back into his human form. “I think this is as far as we can go.”
The boys were back in the forest, at Max’s tree fort. “I don’t think your tree fort will provide any protection from the girls.” Mikey pointed out. “Besides, they would probably find us in a matter of minutes.”
“All the more reason to come up with a plan to save them.” Max replied, firmly. “The girls are still in there, we just got snap them out of it somehow.” “How?” David added. “Those headsets are the ones controlling them, but we can’t take them off.”
“Mikey, you think you can try to hack into them?” John asked. Mikey shook his head. “Sorry, Mc.Hannibal is known for his technological advancements; it could take months or even years to crack a code.”
“So, there is no way to remove them without hurting the girls.” David pointed out. “Plus, the armored suits practically give them enhanced strength and agility, not to mention cannon arms.” He added. “How are we going to get them removed?”
Everyone was silent for a moment. Getting the headsets off the girls was going to be a tough challenge. They couldn’t even get near them without getting blasted by them. “Maybe, we don’t have to.” Mikey explained, getting the others’ attention.
“The headsets are probably receiving signals from somewhere; did you all notice the antenna making strange noises and beeping before the girls became mind-controlled.” He added. “All we need to do is break the antenna off and maybe they’ll return to normal.”
“But, how are going to get even near them?” David asked. “We’re no match for two brainwashed robot girls.” “We’re not going to fight them.” John replied. “There’re are still in there, you saw how they reacted to Max when he talked to them.”
“So, what’s the plan?” Max asked. “Is there a way to save them or not?” Mikey thought for a moment, his brow furrowed in concentration. “There is a way.” He explained. “Max can bring them back.” The others looked at him in horror. “M-m-me?” Max stammered.
“Are you kidding?” John asked. “You want to send Max out alone?” “We have no choice.” Mikey replied, firmly. “It worked once, maybe it can work again.” “Max, it will be all up to you.” he added, turning to the latter with a determined expression. Max gulped hard, easier said than done.

The noise of rockets shattered the peace and tranquility of the forest as Jenny and Sophie landed neat Max’s treefort. The two fembots scanned the area, their visors making beeping sounds. “Target not found, sister.” Jenny spoke in monotone. “Trail and heat signature have disappeared.”
“Target is in area.” Sophie replied. “Scanners indicate he escaped here.” The blond girl looked around, her visor glowing. Suddenly, her antenna beeped and she stiffened up. “Someone is approaching.”
“You got that right!” A voice called out. The girls turned to see Max walking out into the clearing. “If it’s me you want, I’m right here.” He added. The girls raised their cannon-arms and aimed. “Surrender now, Max Yamato.” they spoke in unison. “You cannot beat us.”
“You’re right.” Max replied. “I can’t beat you like this.” The girls advanced closer. “However, that doesn’t mean I have to fight you.” The two girls stopped for a moment. “In fact, I’m more disappointed about the fact you girls are so weak.” He added.
The girls’ visors glowed slightly. “You are in no position to argue, Wild Guardian.” They replied in unison. “Oh really?” Max answered back defiantly. “You know, I used to think Jenny was the most amazing girl I ever met and she never backs down from any challenge.”
“She has always been competitive, courageous and sometimes headstrong.” he added. “That’s what I like about her the most.” He shook his head. “I guess I was wrong, you really are a weak, helpless girl.”
Jenny stiffened at that remark. “I will not be swayed by your taunts, Max Yamato.” She replied, her voice cold. However, Max swore he could hear her tone trembling slightly. “That’s funny,” he added. “but it looks like you already proven my point.”
He turned to Sophie. “And to think you couldn’t get more pathetic.” He continued. “Whatever happened to asking me to stay by your side?” He added. “You told me to stay with you forever, you said that I helped you to change your ways.”
“I was stupid to think you would change your ways,” he taunted. “I guess you were just playing for sympathy, you really are nothing but a spoiled, selfish brat who doesn’t deserve to have friends, let alone a boyfriend.”
Sophie was trembling slightly. “You cannot move me, Max Yamato.” she replied, her voice started to falter. Max smirked. “Fine,” he added, walking straight towards Jenny. “so, I’m sure you won’t mind if I do this!!”
Before the two girls knew what happened, Max grabbed Jenny by the back of the head and pulled her close. *CHU! * He kissed Jenny squarely on the lips, wrapping his tongue around hers; much to her shock. Jenny’s eyes widened so large they nearly popped out of their sockets and her cheeks blushed brightly.
She wasn’t the only one. Sophie’s whole face was completely white, and her jaw was agape. Her whole body was trembling, and tears were forming from her eyes. Max could hear Jenny making muffled sounds.
“Now’s my chance!” He thought. He grabbed hold on the antenna on Jenny’s headphones and gripping it tightly, he snapped it off as easily as a twig from a branch with an audible *CRACK!!* *BIZZT!!!* A loud electric sound emitted from the broken part and Sophie’s antenna as Max pulled away from Jenny.
“URK!!!!” Both girls suddenly jolted as if they had been given an electric shock. They both stood rigid, their headphones emitted smoke and their visors began to crackle. Max noticed their faces were contorted and their eyes widened. “Err-r-r-ror!!” they stuttered. “Er-r-r-ror-r-r!!!”
“Mal-mal-func-c-ct-ion-ion-ion!!!” they cried, jerking their arms wildly. “Mal-mal-fuc-c-c-c-c-tion!!” “Error, error!!!” they added. “Shut-t-t-ting do-do-wn-wn, shutting-dowwwwnnnnnnnn...” Instantly, the girls slumped over, their arms became limp and their heads dropped downwards. As they did, their headsets slipped from their heads and fell to the ground.
“Max!!!” The other boys stepped out of their hiding spots and hurrying towards them. “Are they alright?” Mikey asked, a worried look on his face. “Urrgh...” The boys turned to see Jenny and Sophie stretching themselves and rubbing their heads. “My head, what happened?” Jenny groaned. “Maxie...” Sophie asked. “What happened?”
“Girls,” Max spoke up. “You okay?” The girls blinked in surprise and looked around to find themselves in the forest. “Yeah, we’re fine.” Jenny replied, softly. “Why are here?” “Well, do you girls remember anything?” he asked.
“Well, I remember wearing this costume,” She added. “and putting on those headphones, then that loud noise...” It was then, both girls registered what happened and they turned pale completely.
“Oh my god...” Jenny whispered, covering her mouth as tears welled in her eyes. “Guys, I’m so, so sorry, I didn’t mean to...” “It’s okay, girls.” David replied. “It wasn’t your fault; you were being controlled.” “How can you say that?” Sophie added, close to breaking down. “After we tried too...” “Girls, it’s okay.” Max assured them. “Mc.Hannibal’s the one to blame for this.”
Jenny began to tremble and more tears started to fall down her cheeks. “M-M-Max, I-I-I” Jenny spluttered, only for Max to bring her into his arms. “Shh, shh...” he soothed. “It’s okay, Jenny; it’s okay.” Jenny clung onto him and sobbed quietly, apologising over and over.
“Maxie...” Everyone turned to see Sophie, who was trembling and her eyes were shadowed. “Sophie,” Max gulped, afraid that she wouldn’t react well with his kiss with Jenny. “You kissed her...” She growled.
At that, Max and Jenny both blushed while the other boys chuckled. “Uhh, uhh, well...” Max mumbled. “You see, I had too...” Sophie looked at him with a rather angry look on her face, eyes wet with tears and causing Max to pale. “S-S-Sophie?” He asked.
Sophie stomped right up to Max and grabbed the sides of his face. Before he knew, Sophie pulled him closed and wrapped her lips around his. *CHU!!* Everyone’s jaw dropped, and their eyes nearly bulged out.
Poor Max turned pink in the face as he felt Sophie’s tongue wiggling in his mouth. He tried to speak but his voice was muffled from Sophie kissing him. After what seemed like hours, she pulled away, leaving a small trail of drool.
Sophie wrapped her arms around Max’s neck. “I won’t lose.” She replied, an alluring smile on her face. “I won’t lose to her, Maxie.” The others grinned while Jenny growled slightly. “From this day, onwards Max Yamato, I will show you that I love you more than Jenny!!!” She proclaimed.
“Oh, yeah!?” Jenny shot back, before grabbing Max from behind by his arms. “I won’t let you!!!” Before long, poor Max was in the middle of a lovers tug-of-war with Jenny and Sophie pulling him back and forth. The other boys laughed at the sight.
“Should we tell Jenny about her front door?” John asked. “Oh, don’t worry about that.” Mikey added, smirking. “Let her enjoy this moment.” “Besides, she’ll find out sooner or later.” he added. “How would you know that?” David asked. Mikey looked at him and took out his phone. “Her mom messaged me, and she is not happy.”
