Vimes had never got on with any game much more complex than darts. Chess in particular had always annoyed him. It was the dumb way the pawns went off and slaughtered their fellow pawns while the kings lounged about doing nothing that always got to him; if only the pawns united, maybe talked the rooks round, the whole board could've been a republic in a dozen moves.

Oh that was so fun! I like the framing device of using a screen to see the past or alternate realities, seems like a good way to see more of Yoiryu's exploits. Also the kitsune's just casual omnipotence is so great, I can't get enough of it! And of course, the actual story is so great. "Fionn" was so sweet and it was cool to see him using his great power to help people, but also... can't lie, Duncan being a tyrant is also kind of hot. Gah it's just so great all-around!
You know, I feel a little silly for not even thinking about this until you mentioned it. But no, he wouldn't just 'get rid' of a world. It would be the equivalent of mass murder if he did. It still exists, along with countless other worlds floating around in the universe, though it's been left mostly to its' own devices.
That's one of the many reasons I love his character. he's not one of those annoyingly arrogant gods who just love to show off how amazing and important they are 24/7. and he's not all muahahaha I'm so evil for no reason. he's strangely down to earth (no pun intended)and I respect him for it. even though he definitely could he doesn't go throwing his power around and making things difficult for mortals like most other god fantasy stories on this site👍
