Had a few friends say a more angular snout and "less floppy horns" would perhaps suit the derg better. I went for a more rounded, "Pete's Dragon" look as I thought that would convey a friendly, gentle giant but could see where they were coming from. So did a quick doodle to try this other look out.
And yes, I know I've missed the ears.
