(Chester and Geoff)
The week that followed the day Geoff and Chester met (a Wednesday) was a pretty chill one. Since Geoff made sure not to bring up Chester's dad, Chester was a very sweet albeit very ditzy guy. He was nice, docile, and playful as long as you didn't mention his dad. At the same time, though, Chester was pretty ignorant about some things, such as bills, showering, and the concept of money. As such, Geoff had some annoying trouble w/ his unconventional roommate. As for work, Geoff ran his paper route, as usual, dropping papers off at people's houses. As for Chester, while he had a hard time remembering the different parts of a car, he was surprisingly good at repairing them. Like the first time, Thread gorged himself of on other stray bugs and Chester's blood. As for Patrick and Lola, Patrick would meet the companions during his break each day, chatting w/ them and stuff. Lola, on the other hand, was a bit pettier. While she was nice and friendly w/ Geoff, Lola wasn't as receptive to Chester. While Lola wasn't really mean to him, it was clear that she didn't really enjoy the big guy's company either. Lola never said anything bad about Chester, but her actions spoke loudly. Lola kept a generous distance from him, she was somewhat tense when he was close, and she would throw some jealous glares whenever no one was looking. Finally, as for money, Geoff kept both his and Chester's paychecks (w/ Chester's consent, of course). He did this so he could pay for the house bills and so that Chester didn't lose any of the money. (Though, if Chester were to ask for some, Geoff would be willing to lend him some as long as it wasn't too much). Overall, things were alright for the most part. However, after that week passed, things quickly went south...
...
(Chester and Geoff)
As Geoff and Chester were eating a sandwich lunch that Wednesday afternoon, suddenly, Geoff got a call from Patrick. When Geoff pulled out his ringing flip phone, Chester gave it a curious look while Lola snickered.
"What's that?" Chester asked.
"My phone," Geoff replied.
Chester gave a confused look.
"That's not a phone! Where's the rotary dial? Where's the handle? Where's the cord?" Chester asked.
There was dead silence as the phone kept ringing and Geoff and Lola each gave Chester a weird look.
"Um, you do know that phones haven't been like that for about a hundred years, right?" Lola asked.
Chester gave a stupid look.
Huh? He thought.
Geoff shook his head and immediately picked up the phone.
"Yello?" Geoff asked.
"Geoff! Please, come quick!" Patrick answered.
"Why? What's going on?" Geoff asked.
"There are these strange, dark creatures storming the area I'm in! Could you and Chester please come and help?!"
Geoff hung up and stood.
"What's going on?" Lola asked.
Geoff turned to Chester.
"Patrick needs our help. Get up."
Chester got up and the companions ran out of the repair shop. Lola, shocked, was about to protest but the friends were already gone. As a result, she looked after the two w/ a furious glare, more specifically Chester. After a bit, the companions were in the part of the city where Patrick worked. Patrick waved the two over. Near him, other construction workers were milling about.
"Oh, thank God, you're here!" Patrick shouted.
"What's going on?" Geoff asked.
Patrick pointed to the construction zone. Inside, was a half-finished skyscraper that the workers had been working on for months. There was also a strange, dark aura coming from the place. Geoff groaned.
"Did somebody get possessed? Again?" Geoff asked.
Patrick nodded grimly.
"I mean, I'm glad it's not me this time, but can you please get in there and see what you can do?"
"Um, can't you just call the Freelancers?" Geoff asked, "I don't mean that coldly, for the record."
Patrick sighed.
"I mean, I was going to pay you, but since you don't want to do it..."
Geoff immediately ran off into the construction zone.
"Hey, wait, friend!" Chester shouted.
Chester ran while stumbling after him. Patrick gave an unsure look as the companions ran into the zone. Before the companions could progress too much, Geoff stopped the two.
"Hold on. What the fuck can you do battle-wise?"
Chester giggled.
"I use my body as a weapon. I can also lift things. Oo, oo! I also have this :D!"
Chester suddenly materialized a red chain w/ a blade at the end! Geoff's eyebrows went up at this.
"Well, shit, I guess you're way more fucking prepared than I am..."
"Are you defenseless :3?"
Geoff immediately materialized and brandished a long, grey staff.
"You were saying, bitch?" Geoff asked.
At that, Chester suddenly went stoic as Thread hissed and Geoff was picked up off the ground!
"Shiteballs. I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
Geoff was then slowly lowered back down as Chester gradually went back to happy-go-lucky.
"Shall we?" Chester asked sweetly.
Geoff grimaced.
This motherfucker...
Geoff then ran forward while Chester followed closely behind.
MISSION START!
(Song: Departure from Mega Man Zero 2)
Control List:
(Press y, X, square, or A to attack. For Geoff, he can whip his staff in multiple directions and deflect projectiles. For Chester, he can swing his bladed chain to wrap and slam enemies).
(Press the LB, RB, or tab* to dash. Press the bottom button of your controller or the space bar on the PC to jump. Jumps can be performed during a dash).
The stage itself was surprisingly mellow. There were no pits to be spoken of. The terrain was mostly flat aside from some bumpy parts and some machinery in the way at points. There were also some pits, but these were pretty shallow and empty. As for the enemies, that was where things got tricky. They were shadowy creatures that had a mischievous feel to them. They'd lob dark spheres at the companions as well as rush them! Luckily, though, the enemies weren't too fast, and Geoff and Chester didn't have too much trouble dealing w/ them. There were also bigger varieties that swung w/ strong punches and kicks, but these ones weren't that fast. For Geoff, he was serious throughout and had to work to keep from getting hit. Chester, on the other hand, was having the time of his fricking life! He used his body and weapon to whip and grab the enemies as well as throw them! All the while, Thread also helped by shooting webs the creatures' faces, as well as hissing at the opposition. Eventually, though, the companions reached the apparent source of the issue. There a figure w/ a white cloak w/ their back turned. They had a thickish figure and four tentacles coming from their back, similar to Chester. This person's feet were also like Chester's.
"Hello?" Chester asked.
The figure, cocking their head, turned. Upon seeing the person's face, Chester immediately went stoic as Thread hissed furiously. Geoff was just plain confused. The person, clearly a female monster, looked kind of like Chester except w/ pitch-black eyes that had red, pinprick pupils.
"OH MY. FRESH MEAT! OH, AND APPARENTLY, A USELESS FUCK."
Suddenly, chunks of the ground were ripped up and levitated, much to the woman's laughing delight. Geoff looked to Chester confusedly.
"Um, do you two know each other?"
The woman did a fake, dramatic gasp.
"WHY, CHESTY! YOU NEVER TOLD YOUR LITTLE FRIEND HERE ABOUT YOUR DEAR OLD MAMA? }:]."
Immediately, earth chunk after earth chunk was thrown at Mach speed towards the woman. While she managed to gracefully avoid some, quite a few still nailed her before the storm died down. Fixing herself back up and cracking her neck, the mysterious "mother" gave a sinister smile.
"MY, MY, TUT TUT TUT, WHAT A TEMPER |:}. AND YOU HAVEN'T EVEN INTRODUCED ME TO YOUR LITTLE FRIEND! MY NAME IS LILITH AOSOTH NIGHTSHADE, BUT YOU CAN JUST CALL ME LILITH."
Lilith floated up and summoned some dark flames. Geoff, readying his weapon alongside Chester, gave an aloof expression.
"Geoff."
FIGHT START!
(Song: Like Father, Like Mother) (Link: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40760459/)
The fight would've gone horribly if it hadn't been for Chester. Geoff's staff was like a puny stick as Lillith wasn't even affected by the thing! Thankfully, Chester managed to block most of his mother's attacks and returned fire lightning-fast, all while staying completely stoic. As a result, Lilith's health dropped way too steadily for her liking! When it reached 50%, Lilith finally had enough.
"HEHE, I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A TIME OUT, BOYS |:{."
She then rushed towards Chester. Chester, of course, readied some earth chunks and bladed chains. Suddenly, though, Lilith disappeared and reappeared behind Geoff! Before anyone could react properly, Lilith blasted Geoff from behind!
"WAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!" Geoff screamed.
"GEOFF!!!!!!" Chester shouted.
Enraged, Chester summoned a whole weapons depot worth of bladed chains and shot them at Mach speed towards his mom! Despite her good evasion skills, Lilith was still caught by most of the weapons and thrown back! After that, Chester immediately went to Geoff and knelt. Lilith, shakily getting up, coughed up a bit of dark blood while laughing softly.
"MAMA'S GONNA PUNISH YOU SOON. SHE'S GONNA PUNISH YOU GOOD..."
Lilith then flew off as Chester ignored her and she took the dark energy w/ her. Chester shook his unconscious friend.
"Geoff, Geoff! Please wake up, friend!" Chester shouted.
Sadly, Geoff remained unconscious! Chester began to tear up as he began to lose hope before he suddenly got an idea.
"Oh, I know :D!" He exclaimed.
Suddenly, Chester's body liquified while Thread absorbed in. Slowly and clumsily, Chester covered Geoff's torso... He slowly but surely eased Geoff's wounds and began to change into something else on Geoff. After a bit, once Chester was done, Geoff suddenly bolted upright.
"Huh-? What-?" He asked.
Geoff looked around.
"Chester?" Geoff asked.
Geoff then suddenly a weird sensation on his torso. Looking down, Geoff's eyes went wide as he noticed that he was now wearing a weird, black hoodie w/ some webs and a certain black and red spider on it!
"Hiya :D!" Chester's voice sounded from Geoff's torso.
Geoff screamed as he pulled at the Chester hoodie.
"OW, OW, OW!" Chester protested.
Suddenly, Geoff's body was locked up!
"WHAT THE FUCK DUDE?!" Geoff shouted angrily.
"I'm sorry. You were hurt and not moving, and I didn't know what to do! It was all I could think of!" Chester explained.
"And you couldn't have brought me to a fucking hospital?" Geoff countered.
The Chester hoodie made a sort of "shrug" motion.
"Sorry, I panicked..." Chester said quietly.
Geoff sighed.
"Ok, fine. I get it. Can I move now?"
"Promise not to pull on me?"
Geoff sighed again. Thread hissed softly.
"Fine."
Geoff then felt his body unlock. He felt out the Chester hoodie and moved around in it. It was very flexible and comfy!
Huh. Gotta say, this actually feels kinda neat, even it did come from a shitty situation, Geoff thought.
Aw, thanks! Chester thought back.
Geoff was taken aback.
"Dafuq?!"
The Chester hoodie visibly shook excitedly.
"I didn't know I could do that!"
Geoff then suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head and grabbed it.
"Let's not, ok?"
"Eh."
Geoff looked around.
"Where's Lilith?"
Thread hissed and Chester growled harshly.
"That stupid wench is long gone."
"Why the hell do you hate your mom so much, but not your dad?" Geoff asked.
Chester growled again.
"She's a word that I'm not allowed to say. That's all I want to say."
Geoff pursed his lips but didn't press the issue because of how volatile Chester could be. Sighing, Geoff ran back the way he came w/ Chester now on his torso as a hoodie.
