So I couldn't be at Anthrocon this year...But my presence was felt nonetheless!
chiaroscuro bid me do this picture as a gift print for AC's Board of Directors. If I'd known GoH James (Dinotopia) Gurney was going to get one, I'd have gone with the full digital coloring instead of messing with the colored pencils. ^.^ But I'm glad everyone enjoyed it.
Props to the Big Ten of AC, good folks all, and to Kevin Maguire and Terry Austin.

I always get the biggest kick out of your homages to comics!
Can I confess to being a little disappointed in not seeing Kage in a bowl haircut (Guy Gardner is my favorite Green Lantern evar)?
I remember getting this particular JLA in the mail (yes, I'm such a fan-girl that I actually subscribe when I has teh monies).

Remember this cover very well -- the comic's reboot came as a real thrill after the lame 'Justice League in Detroit' period which had come just before.
Terry Austin's inks could make even an average pencil artist look good, and needless to say Kevin Maguire was way above average -- very clean, sharp style, like Jim Starlin and Keith Giffen at the time.
Loving the shiny, rubbery unicorn too! If this really was a superhero comic, his powers could be inflation or shape-shifting.
