Hair and body colors: Black hair, brown fur

Costumes: Black long coat, black top hat, purple vest, green tie, purple dress shirt, black dress pants, black boots, black gloves. Purple leather face mask, black goggles with green lenses, purple leather gauntlet bracers.
Powers: Energy absorption, enhanced healing via energy absorption, Energy blasts through gauntlets, enhanced strength and punches through gauntlets, artificial holographic duplicate and illusion generation via micro-drones, flight, invulnerability with personal force-field, magna-lock connection with cane (can summon it to him as long as he is wearing his gauntlets)
Skills: Skilled engineer, computer hacker, talented inventor
Disadvantages and body quirks: Can only absorb kinetic energy by being hit and injured, the energy absorbed being barely enough to help him heal from the injury. Healing requires concentration since it is such a new ability. Uses the power gauntlets to channel the absorbed energy for the enhanced strength and energy blasts. Loss of cane strips him of his personal force-field.
Personality quirks: Paranoid, judgemental, short tempered, overly-critical of others. He’s become soured by his experiences and typically plays the role of a joke, which has worsened his attitude towards others. Since the Dark Lord Ebernoth’s defeat, it’s been revealed that he is not as much of a joke of a villain as he has portrayed.
Bio: Radar had a happy life, good and loving parents, and even fell in love during college. He was about to propose to her when she revealed that she had to move away for an internship. But, that is life, with its ups and downs. He would soon meet his own mentor, Dr. Robert Izzo. He was hired into Dr. Izzo’s think tank for the New Innovation Corporation, where he worked for 3 wonderful years. Then his life took a turn for the worse when Dr. Izzo was killed in a lab accident. Afterwards, his AI assistant peaked the president of the company’s interest. Nicholas Cray claimed ownership of the AI as any and all inventions created while under New Innovation employ belonged to the New Innovation corporation.
Radar found himself without a job and without the AI he viewed as his child when he tried fighting it, refusing to let her be taken from her. He attempted all legal routes, even seeking the assistance of a lawyer. But even the lawyer was no help, informing him that they could most likely win a monetary settlement but not ownership of the AI.
At his wits end, he returned to his home where inspiration struck him. Taking a cue from the costumed heroes and villains of the world, he began working on a costume and the tools he’d need to steal his AI back from the New Innovation Corp. Months later, he struck. A villain without a name, he broke into his old workplace and began stealing the project files as well as taking a few of the more “unofficial” prototypes.
It was one of the guards that gave him his name. He told the man at gunpoint that he was his worst nightmare. The guard asked, “The doctor nightmare?” It would seem as fate had chosen his name for him.
Before the newly christened Dr. Nightmare left, he made sure to pay one last visit to his old boss, the president of the company, Nicholas Cray. After killing the man who had pushed him to crime, he fled, using one of the stolen pieces of tech to escape.
The next day, he was shocked to see on the news that Nicholas Cray had somehow survived, despite having shot him in the face at point blank range. The man was thanking the heroine Spellbinder for saving his life, the same Spellbinder that nearly had caught Dr. Nightmare the night before. This act spawned a feud between the hero and villain that lasted for seven years.
Spellbinder’s disappearance caused Dr. Nightmare to disguise himself as a cloaked traveling hero that called himself the Technomancer. The Technomancer was able to rescue Spellbinder from the Dark Lord Ebernoth’s realm, and assisted her in searching for the person who trapped her there. As the weeks went by, he found himself caring for his foe. Upon learning that she was his ex from college, he revealed the truth to her. She was about to tell him that she had never brought his old boss back to life when they learned that Ebernoth had cracked the veil between their dimensions and started to break through.
The night before the great battle, he sought counsel with a seer known as Madam Futura, and was told that a death awaited him if he kept on his current path. Resolved to do what had to be done for Spellbinder, and took the experimental and unknown energy source he had discovered seven years ago and named the Nexus. He injected it into the power source for his gauntlets and felt the energy flow into his body before he attacked Ebernoth himself, determined to drain the demon of his energy and then blast it back at him in an explosive blast from a power overload that would take his own life.
He was temporarily saved by Spellbinder, who took the excess energy from him and was able to channel it back at Ebernoth in blasts of magical energy. But the Nexus was burning through his body, killing him. The battle was won, the Dark Lord defeated and the betrayer discovered to be the former hero Dominus. Dominus was revealed to be an ancient necromancer who had been keeping himself youthful by stealing magical energy.
With one deadly attack, Dominus tried to kill Spellbinder while she was helping the wounded. Dr. Nightmare, in a surprising heroic act, shoved her out of the way and took the fatal hit meant for her. Spellbinder’s rage filled revenge on her mentor was swift, and she took her former arch enemy into her arms as he died. The last thing he saw was her glowing eyes as she cried.
What happened next, is that he swears that he met Death herself and an angel. He was told it’s not his time yet, but he has to release the Nexus, give the energy back. Meanwhile a bright glow emanated from her horn. Another glowing light emerged and left the villain, flying out before another glow flowed over him from Spellbinder’s hands as she brought him back to life.
Since his resurrection, his relationship with Spellbinder has been a bit rocky, what with him being a villian. But they are working on making it work. Ever since the Nexus energy was in his body, he has found he has the ability to absorb energy. He can heal himself with that energy through concentration, and has modified his gauntlets to be able to channel his energy through them for offense.
